Under the active guidance of Director, Dr. Vikas Arora sir,

Sunshine MCA department is delivering and arranging

special sessions for MCA students. Seminar on “Data

Extraction using Data Mining Tool from SQL Server nd th2012” has been arranged for Students of MCA 2 and 4

thSemester on 10 February, 2017. Mr. Herminder Singh,

Consulting Advisor for Sunshine Group has delivered the

session. Major Highlights of the session were Data mining,

its functionalities, integration of Data Mining and Data

Warehousing. The working of Weka Tool (Waikato

Environment for Knowledge Analysis), its implementation

and how to extract data from SQL Server 2012 using Weka

has been demonstrated.

A Seminar on Web Services has been arranged on 12th

February 2017. It was an open seminar for faculties as well

as students. Faculties and students of Sunshine College as

well as from different other colleges participated in the

seminar. The session was really an exciting one as it provided

an open forum discussion for all to clear the concepts of web

services along with enhancing their knowledge. Mr.

Herminder Singh, consulting advisor for Sunshine Group

has handled the session. Web Template, Web service

description language, plugin development, distributed

computing concepts like RMI, RPC, use of web services in

cloud computing are the key areas in which the discussion

focused. The session provided a very good insight into

technical aspects of web services.

thA Seminar on Oracle 12C has been arranged for MCA 4

ndSemester students on 2 March, 2017. Mr. Bhavin Tanna

from Agratta Techstart Pvt. Ltd was the keynote speaker.

Sir had given introduction about Database Cloud, Oracle

12C and Multitenant Architecture. Various DB migration

techniques and scenarios are explained. Case Study

explaining how e-commerce portal maintains high

availability is discussed. Guidance about how to build

carrier as a successful DBA was given. The seminar was

very much helpful for the students.

R-Programming Workshop has been organized for MCA th th4 Semester students on 11 February 2017. R-

thProgramming has been introduced in 4 semester as per the

GTU's latest changed syllabus. So to provide an insight into

the language, workshop has been taken by Mr. Herminder

Singh, consulting advisor for Sunshine Group. Sir has

provided an insight into R language, its implementation, how

to work with R environment, practical applicability of the

language and much more. The workshop provided students

an entry point into the R-Programming language.

thOn 26 February, 2017 Suraksha Setu Society, Life Care Group and Sunshine Group of Institutions jointly organized a Road Show - “Kone Mob” on Education through Entertainment. Being a premier educational institute and having its presence as a pioneer in quality education since 1972, The Group as a part of its social responsibility took the initiative to create awareness in the society on the burning issues like abolition of dowry, saving girl child, eradication of child labor and preventing society from the adverse effect of Alcohol etc. Police Commissioner of Rajkot Mr. Anupam Singh Gehlot, Trustee of Sunshine Group Mr. Meenesh Mathur, Principal of Sunshine Higher Secondary School Ms. Kavita Mathur, and Director of Sunshine Integrated Campus Prof. Dr. Vikas Arora has graced the event with their presence. The Road Show was organized at four places starting from Trikon Bag, Narmada Statue, Kishanpara Chowk and finally concluded at Indira Circle. Students from Sunshine School and College actively participated in the event. They have passed the message through dance, drama and songs.

The Annual Function Oriana 2017 was portrayed at Sunshine Group of Institutions on 10th March 2016. Deputy Commissioner of Rajkot, Mr. Chetan Nandani was the Chief Guest at the function. Principals, HODs, Faculties, Teachers from the reputed educational institutions and corporate partners graced the event with their presence. The program commenced with the Lighting of Lamp depicting obeisance to the Almighty. This was followed by the speech of Chairman Mr. Meenesh Mathur who motivated students towards cutting edge progressive activities and thorough advancement. Director Prof. Dr. Vikas Arora gave a firm welcome to the parents and guests and highlighted the activities of Sunshine Group of Institutions. He shared with parents the learning environment, teaching pedagogy, mentoring, and corporate attitude developed at Sunshine for the overall growth of the students. Chief Guest Mr. Chetan Nandani, shared valuable words and inspired students. A number of performances including Generation Gap, College days, Patriotism and Festivals of India are showcased. Every performance was followed by Award Distribution in multiple areas including Results, Cultural, Leadership, Orator, Programmer followed by Student of the Year Awards. The function was anchored by students from MBA, MCA and BBA.

A visit to Apricot Foods Pvt. Ltd. Rajkot was arranged for the students

thof i-MBA semester II on 5 Jan. 2017. During the visit students were made familiar to the entire plant layout, the production process, supply chain etc.

Students of i-MBA semester II visited the Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit 2017 at thGandhinagar on 12 Jan. 2017. Asst. Prof. Maulik Vasani and Komal Patel guided

Sunshine College has organized Sports Day on the fine thmorning of 4 February 2017. Students of MBA, MCA

and i-MBA department have celebrated the sports day with huge enthusiasm. SGI provided the platform where students played indoor as well as outdoor games. Games like Khokho, Cricket, Badminton, Lemon spoon, Football, Sack race, Volleyball, Chess, Carom, tug of war, 100 m & 300m race and Relay Race. It was fun for the students. Competition was tough and cut throat while the students were performing to their best with a team spirit. The day gave students a short break from the regular lecture schedule and it energized them for a new start for the academics.

th thDuring the week of 14 to 18 February, day celebration

was planned for the students. Students have enjoyed Red

Day, Group Day, Retro Day, Twins Day and Traditional

Day. For Twins Day, best friends came up in similar

getup showing resemblance between each other. On

Retro Day they came up with the attire of the old days to

recall the old day memories. For Traditional Day,

students left behind their formalities and came up in

traditional looks. During the whole week students

relished and took a number of snaps for storing it as a

lifetime memory with their friends.

rdPicnic On 23 Feb. 2017 students of MBA

semester IV went for a picnic to Zainabad,

Gujarat. Students enjoy the traditional and

close to nature environment of the place. They

enjoyed bird & wild animals watching, camel

ride, salt pans, jeep safari etc. It was truly a

memorable stay for the students.

thPicnic is arranged for MCA students on 27

February, 2017. Students have visited

Bhidbhanjan Temple near Jetpur, Jamvan

cave and Sankirtan temple at Porbandar. They

have enjoyed a lot and it provided great

pleasure to all students. Students played a lot

of games, took photographs and have fun.

Picnic provided them a short break from the

regular schedules and helped to spend quality

time with faculties and friends.

A degree in business management doesn't mean you get to skip entry-level work and head straight into management without experience. But don't let this discourage you. Your time spent in an entry-level position is valuable for learning the ins and outs of a job and developing your leadership skills. Reading between the lines is tough.
