Dear Friends,

UCP of Central Florida has a long legacy of making a difference in our community—beginning in 1955 as a small campus that offered hope for a handful of young children with cerebral palsy. Through the years, we’ve seen that vision grow and expand. UCP currently provides a holistic approach of support, education and therapy to thousands of children and their families each year at seven campuses throughout Central Florida. UCP has grown immensely and we now serve children with ALL disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, speech delays and more. Our programs begin as early as six weeks of age when the window of opportunity is greatest for early intervention services and extend through our college/career experience program for high school students 18–21 years of age.

More recently, we started implementing a high quality inclusion program at our charter schools—where children with and without disabilities learn and play together. We continue to share the idea of how incredible inclusion is for all students—both with and without special needs. Our students are growing into compassionate and caring individuals who embrace differences. In addition, at UCP charter schools we believe in hands-on learning. Our students use arts and technology all day in a project-based learning approach. We want our students to understand that learning is fun!

We are grateful to have hundreds of individuals and corporations that support our mission and care deeply about helping all children reach their fullest potential. However, we still have much to accomplish. Your support is what will help create UCP’s vision as reality for our children and their families. We are look forward to our work together in the coming year.

Thank you for your continued support of UCP of Central Florida.

Sincerely,

Dan Sherfield Dr. Ilene E. WilkinsChairman of the Board President/CEO

At UCP of Central Florida, we believe every child deserves

excellent academics to help them learn, grow and excel. That’s

why each of our classrooms is led by highly qualified and experienced

teachers who welcome children and families into a community of

learning. Our research-based academics lay the foundation

for each student’s future success. By opening our classrooms to

children with and without special needs in a unique education

model called inclusion, not only are we breaking down barriers but

we also are teaching children at a very young age to embrace differences. Our unique education approach promotes a valuable

skill set that creates stronger, more open leaders in the future. We provide support, education and therapy services to each of our

students and families, therefore creating a learning environment

that unlocks the potential for every student.
