PRACTICE FOR MIDTERM 1: Please note that these questions were made to understand concepts I think are worthy of knowing before the exam. Please note that I have not seen any previously made exams and you SHOULD NOT only rely on this practice as preparation for the test. I highly recommend working through the Tro problems that the teacher assigned as well as reading the book/powerpoints. I also made these questions multiple choice AND free response to reflect the testing style of the teacher. (These problems are pulled from an MCAT practice book, me, and some are pulled from previous SI practice exams) 1. What is the multiple for the prefix nano-? a. 10 -6 b. 10 -9 c. 10 6 d. 10 9 2. Study Tips

· Go through questions posted in PowerPoints as they are good examples of test questions, plus the answers are worked out if you get stuck

· First go through the Tro problems assigned by the teacher, if you have extra time do additional textbook problems.

· Knowing the name, charge and formula of polyatomic Ions are very useful

· This practice test contains a majority of math questions because students tend to struggle on them the most, but major concepts will also be tested. Be familiar with concepts outlined at the end of each chapter.

· Review with a friend, watch videos, re-watch lectures to clear up any misunderstandings!
