1.1) Technical Manual Updates

Each update to this instruction manual will have a unique version name associated with it. Version names are composed of a letter and a number. The first version of this manual is thus named A0.

Minor revisions are indicated by a number incrementation in the version name. For example, the next two revisions to Version A0 will be called Version A1 and Version A2. Only pages containing updated information will be sent to you. You will be responsible for inserting these updated pages into your manual.

Major revisions are indicated by a letter change in the version name. For example, the next major revision to Version A2 will be called Version B0. Notice that the number following the “B” will return to 0. Minor revisions to Version B0 will be called Version B1, Version B2, and so on.

If a major revision to the manual is required, the entire manual will be re-edited.

Use the following chart to keep a record of revisions received and pages affected.

4.3) Connecting the marking headConnect the CCU’s connecting cable to the marking head. Lock the latch lever.

4.4) Connecting the 24V power supply

4.4.1. Connection without the power supply.

Use the 3 points female plug delivered with the machine and connect as shown below. After making these connections, connect the female plug to the male connector of the UC

4.4.2. Connection with the power supply optionIn the case that you have ordered the power suply option, connect the female pin to the CCU male supply socket, thenplug the electric plug to a mono-phased electric socket.

• Check that the voltage indicated on the power supply unit corresponds to your electric current : 115 or 230V.

• The power supply unit must be absolutely plugged in the following order:1. Machine side: insert and screw the metal male connector in the female connector.2. Power supply side: connect the male plug to your low voltage electric system

•Move the switch to position "I".

Protect the solder joints with heat shrink tubing.

4.6.3. Characteristics of inputs

There are six TTL inputs available.

The supply voltage must be between 12 and 24volts DC.

Calculation of consumption per input : U alim (V) / 2.35 = I (mA)

4.6.4. Characteristics of outputs

Two output terminals, of the open collector NPN type, are available.

The maximun external power supply for the outputs is 24 volts DC.

An integrated diode on the board allows for the inductive loads (Eg : solenoid valve)

The maximum current that can commute an output is 100 mA.

The inputs are not protected nor shielded

4.6.7. Special Input wiring

Start Marking

In order to initiate the "Start marking " input, establish an electric connection (no voltage) between pins 2 and 15.

• Reset Marking

• In order to initiate the "Reset Marking" function, turn the electric connection on between pins 3 and 16. If this connec-tion is not made, the reset function will remain active and no marking will be possible.

4.6.8. Special Output wiring

• End of Marking (pulsating signal for 400ms)

• Information about "End of Marking" is available between pins 1 and 14. The switch is an open "dry" contact (relay). This is an impulse signal that lasts 400 ms

• UC ready

• Information about "UC ready" is available between pins 4 and 17. The switch is an open "dry" contact (relay). This signal indicates that the CCU has received all the necessary instructions to carry out the marking.

• CCU ready: dry contact closed

• CCU not ready: dry contact open
