Breakwater

Large rocks that help protect ships in the harbor from big waves. Breakwaters absorb the energy of waves that hit it.

Beach

A beach is that land at the edge of a lake, ocean, or another body of water. It usually has sand and pebbles and is popular for vacations

Fishmonger/Fisher Seller – Someone who sells fish and other seafood. They are also good at cutting and preparing fish.

Divers (Haenyo) – People that dive into water and collect expensive seafood. Divers are good at holding their breath and swimming deep in water.

There are many different kinds of traditional fishing boats that have been used to catch fish..

The oldest fishing boat is 7,000 years old!

The most basic boat design. You can make a raft putting logs together. In Asia they use bamboo.

The oldest boats made by man. Reed boats are made out of reed. They are easy to bend and good in water.

Coracles are boats that are shaped like a bowl. Coracles are also light and easy to carry. On coracles people usually fish using a net.

Small boat that is pointed at both ends. Canoes are usually made out of trees. Canoes are moved using a paddle.
