WHAT IS JAD?
JAD stands for Joint Application Development.
JAD is a requirements-definition and software system design
methodology in which stakeholders, subject matter experts, end-
users, software architects and developers attend intense off-site
meetings to work out a systems details. It focuses on the business
problem rather than technical details and is most applicable to the
development of business systems.

FOUR SIMPLE IDEASThe JAD process is based on
1. People who actually do a job have the best understanding
2. Trained people in information technology have the best
understanding
3. Information systems and business processes transcend the
confines of any single system or office
4. The best information systems are designed when all of these
groups work together on a project as equal partners
