    Stewardship Reflection August 5th Christian stewards demonstrate their gratitude for God’s

    blessings by putting away “the old self of your former

    way of life” to build up His Kingdom here on earth by

    sharing their time, abilities and financial resources.

    sides and lots of fun activities for the kids. Next

    Sunday 10:30 mass will be at Reservoir Park at the

    amphitheater next to pavilion #1. Lunch will start

    immediately after mass at pavilion #1. Children’s

    games will start after lunch. Return your

    confirmation envelopes today. There are extra

    envelopes and someone to answer any questions at

    the sign-up table located in the gathering space after

    each mass. August 5th is the last day to sign-up.

    Sally Ann Martinez, mother of Rick (Robin) and Ronald

    (Beth) Garbinsky. May God grant her eternal rest and

    her loved ones comfort in their loss.

    ARISE! TOGETHER IN CHRIST! Preparations are underway here at St. Matthew’s – and

    in all diocesan parishes – for this wonderful renewal

    process that begins this Fall. A meeting for anyone

    interested in serving as a Small Group Leader (or just

    finding out more information about the key role!) will

    be held Tuesday, August 21, 7PM, in the Gathering

    Space. Our parish “Kick-Off” will take place the

    weekend of August 25-26.

    The Franciscan Friars, T.O.R., from Loretto, invite

    you to participate with them in celebrating the

    Fatima Devotions on Monday, August 13th, at

    6:30 PM n the Sunken Gardens. (In case of

    inclement weather, the devotions will be at the

    Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel). We would

    THANK YOU. . For many decades The Friar’s Shop in Loretto, PA has served the local community

    providing religious gifts for every occasion. Through

    the years we have often sold both baptism and wedding

    gifts for the same recipient. It has been a true pleasure

    to build relationships with so many faithful, regular

    customers. However, times have changed a great deal.

    It is hard for any brick and mortar store to compete with

    the online giants. It is with great sadness that we must

    announce that the Friar’s Shop is closing. Our last day

    of operation will be Saturday, September 15th. We will

    be offering storewide discounts to help reduce

    inventory. We thank you all for your friendship and

    support through the years. May God Bless you all.

    Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

    begins September 5th ~ Are you or someone you know interested in joining the Catholic Church? In Catholic

    parent at Baptism or sponsor at Confirmation. If you
