RSFOTDIn birds, wattles are often an ornament for courting potential mates. Large wattles usually mean high testosterone levels, good nutrition and the ability to evade predators, which is usually a sign of a potentially successful mate.
RSFOTDGoats can have wattles too!

TYPES OF ENERGY
There are six types of energy.
#1: MECHANICAL ENERGY: energy associated with the
position AND motion of an object.
Ex.: Throwing a football has both PE and KE
The more ME an object has, the more work it can do.

#2: THERMAL ENERGY: the total PE and KE of the
Ex.: Lava; ice cream
particles in an object.
THERMAL ENERGY
Objects are made up of atoms, which are always moving.(Remember solids, liquids, and gases?!)
Temperature affects how fast these particles move. The higher the temperature, the faster the particles move.

Example Lava. It moves slowly, but the particles are moving super fast.Since the particles are moving fast, lava has a lot of thermal energy.
THERMAL ENERGY
Moving particles have KE.

#3: ELECTRICAL ENERGY: energy of electric charges.
Ex.: Lightning; batteries; electrical lines
ELECTRICAL ENERGY
Energy that comes from electrical charges.

#4: CHEMICAL ENERGY: PE that is stored in the chemical
bonds that hold chemical compounds together.
Ex.: Food; matches
CHEMICAL ENERGY
Almost everything is made of atoms or molecules. The bonds between these atoms and molecules contain chemical energy.

CHEMICAL ENERGY
When the bonds break, chemical energy is released.
Chemical energy has PE.

#5: NUCLEAR ENERGY: energy stored in the nucleus of
Nuclear FISSION = nucleus splits
an atom. Released during nuclear reaction.
Nuclear FUSION = nuclei of atoms join together (fuse)

NUCLEAR ENERGY
This occurs all the time in the sun, producing a ton of energy!
#6: ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY: the energy of light and
other forms of radiation. Travels as waves.
Ex.: Sunlight; microwave; xrays; radio waves

ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
Electromagnetic energy travels in waves, some electrical, some magnetic.
