National Geothermal Development Plan for Indonesia

• Issued by BAPPENAS 11 November 2011 • Upscale activities Geothermal Energy • Need Assessment trained personnel

• Scientific staff in Universities • National and local Government staff • Management and technical staff in Companies • 1.7 FTE per additional MW of GE installed

• Request from BAPPENAS to Netherlands for support in Capacity Building

• GEOCAP as a 6 m euro contribution to support geothermal capacity building

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Also important to note that the geocap plan is based on the technical assistance plan issued by BAPPENAS in 2011. this means the topics addressed in Geocap date back to 2011 although the ambitions set at that time are still valid.

Presenter
Presentation Notes
These are the training and research topics. Again they have their origin in the 2011 BAPPENAS plan. The AB is asked to comment on the relevance (give priorities!) of the topics also based on the information they have from the annual progress report and the 2015 year plan.

Low – medium enthalpy geothermal resources • Temperature: < 200°C • Resources:

• Surface manifestations • Geothermal waste heat • Sedimentary basins • Volcanic

24 13/04/2016

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Definition low-medium enthalpy vaies, but in this case we look up to 200°C In this study, we looked at surface manifestations, waste heat and west java sedimentary basin. Volcanic is not included (no time left), but this one might be very interesting.

Surface manifestations

25 13/04/2016

Hot spring Other (e.g. fumarol, mud pool…)

Hot springs • 27 locations • 54 hot springs • 20 kW – 4 MW • 30 - 100°C

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Several types of surface manifestations, focus is on hot spring because of (reletively) easy harvesting of heat

Waste heat power plants

26 13/04/2016

Waste heat • 5 locations • 20 MW – 185 MW • 45 - 175°C

Brine Condensate Brine and condensate

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Two types of waste heat: brine and condensate. Brine has high temperature. Barrier might be precipitation. Condensate heat low temperature (approx 45°C), limited use.
