Winners from Tycoons 2008
I can describe the Tycoons-08 as potpourri of various competitive rounds of quizzes, ad making and strategic decision making, but that would be flat unfair to describe the 5 day intellectual stimulus that Tycoons-08 was. Where else would you find 48 brilliant people handpicked from across the country to converse and interact with.
The event was a confidence booster for me in terms of validating my belief that i am able and capable of running a successful Tech-Startup
What the winners have to say
The one particular trophy which has clearly distinguished my life into two distinct parts, the one before I achieved it and the one after, is that of TYCOONS-08. Not because it involved more than 2 lakh participants from the best universities/colleges in India, not because it involved more than 5 immensely competitive stages including a grueling physical stage at Rishikesh, not because of the tons of prize money and scholarship that I got after winning, not because of the wonderful friends and the amazing mentor ship that we got from stalwarts and luminaries like Satya but because it made me realize my latent potential and capabilities. The memories help me motivate myself during the bad days in my entrepreneurial journey and enliven my spirit with realization of my capabilities and reignite the fire to perform and create an impact
NISHITH
ABHISHEK
The most important lesson I learnt, at the risk of sounding clichéd, is that nothing is impossible. But really, there are a whole lot of things, seemingly impossible, that one can do. Like jumping off a 25-ft high cliff when you don’t have a head for heights or a parachute - Can be done. Have your own start-up while you are still recovering from teenage and getting accustomed to the rude shock adulthood is – Totally possible.
I met people my age who have already accomplished so much that I half expected them to be extra terrestrial beings. These people were so much like me. It was eerie and motivating. It sure did leave me all windswept and interesting. I developed a whole new perspective towards myself and life. I do realize that there is an untapped potential hibernating in each one of us. It is up to us to rouse it to consciousness and achieve a lot of what we dream about.

Apart from acting as the torch bearers of the TYCOONS we have been engaged with all the participants like:
CL has been offering these participants mentoring support for their dream careers like an MBA from the premier B-Schools of India
CL will sponsor the PG courses for the top 3 winners anywhere in India
Many finalists have been in touch with Tycoons team and CL’s leadership team about mentoring and guidance on their career ambitions and ideas
The 2008 winners will be invited to interact and share their experiences with the 2009 national finalists
Abhishek was a speaker at The Entrepreneurship Week – ‘E Week’ with the theme “Go Green! The World is our Business” initiated by the non-profit organisation NEN in which Career Launcher’s B-school IWSB was a partner
