Twilight Quilters’ Guild of Norfolk County Newsletter Meeting: June 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. CANCELLED PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: Gratitude. This word seems to be everywhere I look these days… on hand-printed signs, people’s lawns, the evening news, Facebook. I guess I have never seen it or thought about it as much as I have these last many weeks. I am Grateful to be Canadian, I am Grateful that my family and friends are safe and healthy. I am Grateful to live in Norfolk County and not in a city, I am Grateful that it has warmed up and that I can plant my flowerbeds. I am Grateful for the wonderful world of quilting, that has brought so many, many wonderful friends and like- minded people into my life. I am Grateful for the excellent Executive of the Twilight Quilters’ Guild of Norfolk who are working very hard to figure out how we can safely plan to continue to have meetings in the future. I miss you all. Keep quilting and Stay safe. Terry Anderson President 2019-2021 PROGRAM – Melanie Douglas, Karen Johnstone, Vicki Harris, Maggie McEntee COVID QUILT CHALLENGE The Program Committee is issuing a challenge. In these times of uncertainty, we challenge you to create a quilt that reflects how you are feeling. Is it Confused? Anxious? Hopeful? Zen? All emotions are valid and welcomed. We will have a Show and Tell in the future. It may be in per- son or as photos to add to the newsletter. We would love you to tell the story of how you chose your quilt pattern and colours. There could be prizes for the best one!!! Adding to this, use the FQs you were given in your goodie bag at last November’s retreat. We hope as many as possible will rise to the oc- casion and give the guild a story we won’t forget in these unusual times. The Program Committee is working ahead and have booked a wide range of speakers and events for the upcoming year. “HOUSE BLOCK” QUILTS We will conclude our house block exchange and will have a Show and Tell of what everyone designed with their blocks, in September.
