• The opening centres around the protagonist mourning

the death of her mother.

• She is shown to be feeling guilty for something

• Her sin is punished by the appearance of her mother's

ghost, who kills her daughter in anguish.

• The main film shifts focus to the rest of the mother and

daughter's family to tell each of their stories separately,

and how they are all affected by the dark secrets that

they share. The mother’s ghost hunts them one by one.
