Professor Finbarr Allen

BDS, PhD, MSc, FDS, FDS (Rest Dent) RCPS, FFDRCSI

Professor Finbarr Allen is currently Dean, NUS Faculty of Dentistry and Chair of the University Dental Cluster, National University Hospital. He is a Professor in the discipline of Operative Dentistry, Endodontics and Prosthodontics, and a Senior Consultant in the National University Hospital, Singapore.

Dr. Chung Kong Mun left the public sector to become a partner in RCOLL in 1998, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in Periodontics. His practice is limited to Dental Implants and Periodontics where he specializes in gum conditions and diseases such as gingivitis, bad breathe, gum abscess and recession. Dr. Chung has been teaching part time at NUS for more than 20 years and served as an internal examiner for the NUS Master in Dental Surgery Programme (Periodontics). He has also presented many lectures, workshops and seminars in Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, USA and Vietnam and authored a number of articles and abstracts in various peer-reviewed journals and other publications.

Associate Professor Lim Pum Peng

BDS (Singapore), DDPHRCS (London), MSc (London), PhD (Hong Kong), FAMS

Dr Lim Lum Peng is currently Director of Discipline in Periodontology and Programme director of the Postgraduate Residency Programme in Periodontology, NUS. She graduated from The University of Singapore. She obtained her Diploma in Dental Public Health followed by MSc in Periodontology at the University of London and later PhD from the University of Hong Kong. Her major research interest is in Epidemiology, non-surgical periodontal treatment and the perio-systemic connection.

“Oral health therapists: the ‘new' face in dentistry. Where are we 8 years later?”

Dr. Koh Chu Guan

BDS (Singapore), MSc (Periodontology)(UK), FAMS

Dr Koh Chu Guan is a Senior Consultant at the National Dental Centre of Singapore. He graduated from NUS in 1988, and later obtained his Periodontics degree from Eastman, London, in 1994. He has been working in the Periodontics Unit at NDCS since then. Dr Koh has been involved in the training of OHTs from the inception of the program in NYP. He has been serving in the OHT Accreditation Committee, the Advisory Committee for the NYP Diploma on Oral Health Therapy Program and the Curriculum Review Committee for the same program. He has also served as examiner for the Qualifying Examination for foreign Hygienists.

Dr. Ong Meng Ann, Marianne

BDS (Singapore), Cert (Periodontics)(USA), MSc (Periodontics)(USA), FAMS

Dr Marianne Ong is a Senior Consultant Periodontist in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the National Dental Centre Singapore. She is a Fellow in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Since 2002, she has been actively involved in postgraduate teaching in the Master of Dental Surgery (Periodontology) Residency Training Programme, Faculty of Dentistry, NUS and is currently Clinical Associate Professor.

Dr. Benjamin T.K. Tan

BDS(S'pore), MSc (London), MClinDent (Distinction)(London), FAMS (Periodontics)

Dr. Benjamin Tan is the current chairperson of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Committee for Periodontics in Singapore (2012 to present) and past-chairperson of the Chapter of Periodontists, College of Dental Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore (2009-2013). Dr Tan practices Periodontics at Poon & Phay Dental Surgeons. He is also adjunct senior lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and teaches in the periodontal and dental implantology programmes.

“Implant maintenance: the key to dental implant longevity?”

Dr. Tan Wah Ching

BDS, MDS, dr. med. dent., MRD RCSEd, FRACDS, FAMS

Dr. Tan Wah Ching currently maintains a private specialist practice in Singapore. She also holds the appointments of Visiting Consultant and Adjunct Principal Investigator at the National Dental Centre Singapore, and Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Tan is an ITI fellow and serves as ITI study club director in Singapore. She currently serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals, Clinical Oral Implants Research and the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation.

“The evidence of oral probiotics in periodontal treatment and management”

Dr. Marlene Teo

BDS Hons. (Singapore); Cert Perio; MS Periodontology (USA); Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology

Dr Marlene Teo is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, an ITI Fellow, and maintains a clinical practice limited to Periodontics and Dental Implants at TP Dental Surgeons Pte Ltd. She currently holds a joint appointment as Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is involved in supervising both undergraduates and postgraduates in the Periodontology program. She also lectures extensively both locally and internationally.

“Periodontal regeneration: a microsurgical approach”

Dr. Ang Chee Wan

BDS (Singapore), MDS (Periodontology) (Singapore), MRD RCS (Edinburgh, UK)

Dr Ang is the Clinical Director of T32 Dental Centre. He is an accredited Specialist in Periodontology registered with the Singapore Dental Council. He also teaches the undergraduate and postgraduate students in the National University of Singapore. Dr Ang is an active member in several professional organizations, including the Society of Periodontology (Singapore), the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).

“The deficient maxillary posterior ridge: what should we take note of?”

Dr. Fu Jia Hui

Dr. Fu Jia Hui, is an Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Periodontics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Senior Registrar in Periodontics at the National University Hospital. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of the Misch International Implant Institute, and winner of the André Schroeder Research Prize in 2014.
