TIle FAA A did what no other union would do and represented us free of charge and still only charges us half fees to signify the commitment of the FAAA to our Virgin membership.

We achieved a great result for Virgin Australia members, in spite of an employer that was hostile to unions and we achieved this result without having to resort to industrial action.

This was a remarkable achievement. Recently the FAAA have announced a significant benefit to members and will provide FAAA members with an IPAD for their manuals and other communication requirements, this initiative is groundbreaking for a Union.

I As a result of the commitment of I Michael and Steven, we have both

been elected unopposed to the FAAA Council. The opposition team in this election has no interest in the VA membership and infact one of the the opposing team questioned publicly why VA had two positions on the FAA A Council.

We ask you to vote for Michael Mijatov for Secretary and Steven Reed for Assistant Secretary to ensure that we as your VA representatives have a continuing voice in the FAAA and can effectively represent our growing workforce. In addition it will signify your thanks for a job well done':

MICHAEL MlJATOV - CANDIDATE FOR SECRETARY

I have been a flight attendant since 1989. Prior to this I was an auditor for 11 years.

It has been my pleasure to represent our members for the last 15 years (7 years as

Assistant Secretary and the last 8 years as Secretary). This period ofleadership has

enabled me to acquire extensive experience on all IR issues and IR legislation.

I have been an integral part of EBA negotiations on 9 occasions, 5 times as

Secretary. I was responsible for altering the Rules of the FAAA last year to provide

for Virgin Australia representation in the FAAA structure.

It was my pleasure to lead your EBA negotiations last year, which produced such a good outcome for our members' first EBA.

STEVEN REED - CANDIDATE FOR ASSISTANT SECRETARY

I have been a flight attendant for 24 years. Prior to that I worked for

Air New Zealand in a range of positions including retail, reservations and Sales.

Prior to that I worked for a large manufacturing Company in contract

negotiation and management.

For the last eight years it has been my very great honor to be the President of our

union. Representing Flight Attendants has become my life's work and my proudest

achievement. My union involvement goes back to the early 1990's. I am passionate

about OH&S, Fatigue Risk Management and Workers Compensation. I represent

crew in EBA negotiations, disciplinary matters including matters in the Com

mission and am a vocal advocate for the interests of International Cabin Crew. I

am standing for the Assistant Secretaries position as part of the FAA A succession

plan. It will be give more opportunity to be involved in the day-to-day activity of

members' issues and industrial matters. If I am elected, you have my commitment

to apply all my knowledge and skills in furthering your interests as crew,

irrespective of airline grouping. To our Virgin Colleagues, I would like to say it

gives me great pleasure to welcome Murray and Sam to our team. I know that they

will do a great job for you, and I want you to know that they like all of our Virgin

members will always enjoy my support in our struggle to maintain and improve

conditions in our most competitive industry. Our team is the only one that

includes Virgin Crew as part of their commitment to Flight Attendant

throughout Australia.

ELECTION MATERIAL FROM "INTEGRITY TEAM"

We write to you regarding election material that was recently mailed to Virgin Australia FAAA

members from a Len Morrison and a Greg Broome on behalf of their so-called "Integrity Team':

In the material they state that "the integrity team includes international cabin crew from across

QAL, QCCA and Virgin Australia" and then use both of our names (Murray Smith and Samuel

Mead) to suggest that we are either a part of their team or have some connection with them.

We have just recently been elected unopposed as Virgin Australia FAA A Divisional Councillors.

We are of course a part of Michael Mijatov's current FAAA team.

We are angry that this so-called Integrity Team has used our names in this deceptive manner.

So much for integrity, they did not even have the decency or courtesy to approach us, before

they decided to use our names in this misleading manner.

We urge all members to vote for Michael Mijatov and Steven Reed, when you receive your ballot

paper at home address.
