One thing is for certain, we quickly became pros at conducting virtual meetings! Many of our team members transformed kitchen tables and nooks into their new office space. Setting up computers, monitors and phones to operate out of their new home offices. If you’ve called us and heard the sounds of children in the background then you know this to be true! To better assist with call volume, we added payment options to our website and improved our online quote request process. The Financial Services Group, no longer able to offer in-house workshops, shifted to an online format: Webinars. You can now attend their educational seminars in the comfort of your home; you don’t even have to get out of your pajamas! Although we have become adjusted to this alternate way of serving our clients we can’t wait to see you in person. As that day approaches, know we will continue to keep health a priority. We are taking precautions to ensure our offices are cleaned as recommended by the CDC. What the future holds is uncertain, how we choose to face it is up to us. We embrace the new challenges that face us, accepting them as learning opportunities to grow individually and as an agency. Thank you for your continued support! Stay Safe. Stay Home. Stay Healthy. ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS! HOME INSURANCE RATE INCREASE

Expect to see a rate increase at your next home insurance renewal. It doesn’t matter which company you are insured with, odds are very good they are increasing their rates. Why? Using statistics and financial theories, insurance actuaries determine the insurance risks in specific areas and the costs associated with those risks. When an area experiences a major disaster or significant spike in claims payout for unforeseen reasons it may cause the company’s actuaries to reevaluate their assessment of the area and adjust premiums to better plan for the new demand. The unforeseen increase in roof claims and lawsuits driven by contractors is causing many companies to reassess their policy language and premiums charged. It is important to note that all increases must be approved by the Office of Insurance Regulation (ISO). In other words they can’t just increase rates for the sake of doing it; companies are required to back up there request for increases with hard data. Contractors have and are continuing to target areas with aging roofs telling homeowners they have roof damage from a storm that happened many months ago, when in actuality the majority of damage is due to wear and tear. Homeowners see this as an opportunity to replace an older roof for “free”. We have been warning residents for the past year that this could happen. The Villages Insurance Team is aggressively exploring other markets, researching options to best meet the needs of our residents. We are homeowners ourselves and are experiencing the increase in premiums ourselves, we’re in this together. Give us a call when you receive your policy renewal, let’s review your options together.
