After clicking on Cadence you will see a black command window. Then, put your
password [Enter].
(Note: the password will not appear on the screen as “•” or “*” when entered)
5
Once you have entered your password the following window will appear.
6
On the new window, follow the following steps:
1. If you have a directory named “cadence6” go to step two, if not create one
by typing:
mkdir cadence[Enter]
2. To see the newly created directory:
ls[Enter]
3. Move libraries:
mv cadence6 cadence6_old[Enter]
4. Run script:
CadenceSetup[Enter]
5. Make ~/cadence6 your default directory:
cd cadence6[Enter]
6. Start cadence:
Virtuoso &[Enter]
Note: users should only need to run CadenceSetup once (though it won’t hurt if
you run it more than once). Make sure to have your default directory set to
~/cadence6. All projects you create will be subdirectories of ~/cadence6.
7
If you see the above window, you have successfully configured your Cadence.
You are done with the configuration part of the tutorial!
