TURKEY - Parliamentary representative democratic republic. - Prime Minister is the head of the government. - Multy-party system - President is the head of the state who holded less power than Prime Minister and just had a ceremonial role or was signing some international agreements and constitutional arrangements before R.T.E - Right now, we can say that President more important than Prime Minister. Executive, Legislative, Judiciary Turkish political system is based on separation of Powers, which means; Executive power exercises by the Council of Ministers, Legislative power exercises in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Judiciary is independent from the executive and the legislature. Executive, Legislative, Judiciary

Parties in Assembly

Since 1950, parliamentary politics has been dominated by conservative parties.

The Main Party;

Ak Party (Justice and Development Party)

- date of establishment: August 14, 2001; 13 years ago BY Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN (right now he is The President)

- party leader: Ahmet DAVUTOĞLU (at the same time he is the Prime Minister)

- political program: They are explaining how and why they can develope Turkey and what they will use like;

· Turkey has rich surface and underground natural resources.

· Turkey has a young and dynamic population.

· Turkey has a very rich historical and cultural heritage.

· Our nation has a deep rooted and rich tradition of government.

· Turkey has a high entrepreneurial potential with a high capability for international competition.

· Turkey has a geo-strategic position, which may help it to play an influential role in its region.

· Turkey is a center of attraction for tourism with its unique natural beauty and historic texture.

· The qualities of social solidarity and mutual assistance, which are expressions of our public's national and religious character, are very significant assets.

· Our nation has achieved many successes in many impossible situations throughout history.

So they are saying, those are the specialities of Turkey, we will use them and we will make Turkey up.

- structure of the electorate (who votes for this party?): According to some researches, the over 78% of voters of the Ak Party are giving the vote them because of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The main part of the voters of Ak Party is conservative people. According to research; 99,2 % of puplic is muslim. So this is the biggest advantage of Ak Party.The other groups which are giving vote to the Ak Party are;- Some part of Nationalists and patriots- Big company employers and probably this company’s employees- People who are happy with the direction of the TurkeyETC…

The latest local election happened in 2014

The latest general elections happened in 2011

According to election 2011;

Ak Party has 49,95 % of vote and 327 representatives in the assembly

CHP has 25,98 % of vote and 135 representatives in the assembly

MHP has 13,01 % of vote and 53 representatives in the assembly

Independents have 6,57 % of vote and 35 representatives in the assembly

(BDP & HDP have 30 and the other indepentents have 5 representatives)

The next general election will be on 7th June 2015

Assembly has 550 seats and and parties have to exceed the 10 % electoral threshold to get in assembly.
