It is the largest university in the Tyumen region of Russia.

Tyumen State Oil and Gas University is the only university of its kind in Siberia and Far East. It was established in 1956. Today about 40 thousand students study here in 70 departments. During the 50 years of its existence the university has awarded diplomas to almost 75 thousand graduates.

Tyumen Oil and Gas University is organized into seven educational institutes: the Technological Institute, the Institute of Geology, the Institute of Transport, the Institute of Oil and Gas, the Institute of Management and Business, the Institute of Cybernetics, Information science and Communication and the Institute of Humanities

Tyumen State Oil and Gas University is a first-rate research center with 18 research institutes and centers. The scholars participate in the development of dozens of projects.

Dmitri Ivanovich Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev.Mendeleev.A unique exhibition

was opened in Tyumen State Oil and Gas University on the 180th anniversary of the birth of Dmitri Mendeleev (1834-1907). The exhibition presents interesting biographical facts of our famous countryman associated with the development of the Russian fuel and energy complex.
