On Wednesday 28 June, 2017 the new build Padmos Shipyard, Stellendam, the Netherlands ART10-
15 Training Rotortug©. “RT Borkum” was christened at the Rotterdam Westerkade.
The RT Borkum is the newest addition for Rotortug B.V., Rotterdam, the Netherlands and is
designed for training purposes.

At the same time the new Kooren Terminal was inaugurated and build by TeamCo Shipyard –
Heusden
The RT Borkum is outfitted according to superior yacht quality and will at the same time serve as a
representation – and display vessel to show the Rotortug principle to prospective Clients.
Particulars: LOA: 14.95 mtrs; LWL: 13.90 mtrs; Beam mld: 8.00 mtrs; Nav draft: 3.30 mtrs and a
Bollard Pull: 10 tons. History repeats, since Shipyard Padmos Stellendam BV, co-designed and
outfitted the first Rotortug class for Ton Kooren and is now building his RT Borkum Trainer
Rotortug©.

The 10 tons bollard pull tug, designed by Robert Allan Ltd from Vancouver, is outfitted according to
her “sister vessels” of the ART 80-32 Class and will be used as a training vessel in addition to
simulation training.
Sponsor lady of the tug RT Borkum was Mrs Els Wander-Kooijman
Els started as a 22 years young lady for the Sleepdienst Adriaan Kooren B.V. – Later Kotug and now
Kotug Smit and have seen all changes from nearby. The owners are very pleased that they accepted
the invitation has been the Godmother of the tug

Propulsion system:
The main power is provided by three Scania D19 070M diesels developing a total output of 221 kW
delivered to three azimuth thrusters. On trails, this configuration gave the vessel an average bollard
pull of 10 tonnes and a free running speed of 8 knots.

The tug consist tanks for Fuel with a capacity of 6 m3 and fresh water with a capacity of 1.2 m3;
Accommodation:
The tug has been outfitted to the highest standards heated and air-conditioned living quarters
equipped with satellite television a galley and sanitary facilities according to ILO regulations.
