Korean Style Impact on Teenagers

Teenager is a young person whose age falls within the range from 13 – 19. This period is a

transformation period from a child into an adult. in this period, their surroundings have a great

influence in developing their character. Culture is learned and socially shared , and it effects all

aspects of an individual’s life. However, "culture" should not be seen as synonymous with nation

or ethnicity. Many cultures are present within any given country and racial or socioeconomic

group. Korean culture or style is really popular among teenagers nowadays, especially in Asia,

including Indonesia.

The style began to get popular when korean singers are getting popular worldwide. Lately,

there are many teenagers who idolized korean singers and actors. The music and drama are

listened and watched by many teenagers. Then teenagers imitate the actors and singers styles,

especially the girls.

Korean styles are rather popular among the girls, because girls usually spend a lot of time

dressing up. These styles are not only clothes, but also hair, makeup, and even accessories For

example, see-trough bangs and soft waves hairstyle that we can frequently see among the

teenagers, and also hair bun with a big bow. We can also see almost every female students use

contact lenses to make their eyes look bigger. For makeup, the trending korean style is straight

eyebrows. Their makeup brands are also getting popular. For example, the face shop and etude

house. We must have been heard these brands before and even seen the stores at shopping mall.

From these examples, we can conclude that korean style has been popular among teenagers

lately and it has a big impact on the teenagers appearance. we personally think that korean style

is good, it is suitable for asian people. That’s why we should accept this culture or style, we can

imitate the style without leaving our country’s original style too.
