SMALL SCHOOLS ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Congratulations to Sunny Cowper, Tiara Dekker and Archie Carter. They will be competing at the District Athletics Carnival on Friday August 1.

HISTORICAL TOUR

What an interesting and informative tour by Roy Bowling. Last Sunday 51 people learnt many interesting facts about this area and enjoyed a magnificent country morning tea organised by the Pillar Valley Fire Brigade. Thank you to Kathy Jones, Shelly Jones and Judy Bremer. The historical photos and rare maps were most interesting. Lunch was pretty good too! Thank you to the Bowling and Moran families for helping out.

SCIENCE FAIR

Last Week Mrs Brennan from South Grafton High School, demonstrated a number of exciting science experiments to the whole school. Mrs Brennan is co-ordinator of the Clarence Science Initiative (CSI) at the High School. Forms were given to students in Year 4 and 5 who were interested in nominating for this class. These forms are to be returned to South Grafton High School.

EDUCATION WEEK

Next week is Education Week. We have planned some great activities during the week. Tuesday 29th July – Education Open Day at school. Parents are invited to come along. Join the children in an art activity, a maths activity and be creative on the iPad. Stay for a delicious morning tea. To help with our planning can you please indicate on the attendance note if you are coming along. Wednesday 30th July – Excursion to Bunnings and the new Grafton Library. Cost $3.00. Parents are most welcome to attend free of charge. Thursday 31st July and Friday 1st August – Painting totem poles with Aboriginal artists, Aunty Carmen and Aunty Rosie. Come along and paint too.

CANTEEN ROSTER REQUEST FORM - TERM 3 2014

The school canteen is run entirely by parents for the benefit of all children at the school. The

children love buying something from the canteen, especially when their own parent is there to

serve them. Toddlers are welcome to come along with you for the day but because of the O.H. & S.

Act they are not allowed in the canteen. Remember the more helpers the fewer days we have to

do. The Canteen is open Monday and Friday’s for Term 3.
