PROFILE OF TUAN ASMAWI

I have spent almost over 14 years even on freelance basis behind the microphone . Agraduate from National University of Malaysia with a B.A.(Hons) in Arabic Languageand Literature and a Diploma in Arabic Language and Literature from Sultan ZainalAbidin Religious College (now University Darul Iman Malaysia). My journey as a voice

over and on-camera talent , motivator , emcee , translator commenced in 1993 whenI was luckily given an opportunity to be a Radio Announcer at Radio TelevisionMalaysia which involved three stations i.e Terengganu.fm and Radio KlasikNasional and UKM Cable Radio . Started to appear on screen as a TV Presenter via

TV1 RTM and Educational TV (Channel 13 ASTRO) and also JAKIM BroadcastingDivision (TV Unit) via RTM1 in 1997 up till now. Since I have been involved in thebroadcasting field either Radio or Television , I was twice given the honour to be apart of jury for Seri Angkasa Award (the most prestigious in the world of broadcastingin Malaysia) from 2004 and 2005 as well as 2006. Praise be to Almighty Allah.

Among other programmes hosted for TV1 RTM & ETV ASTRO were DocumentarySyahadah , Talkshows - Selamat Pagi Malaysia , Jendela Pagi , Laman Minda (ASTRO),Forum Perdana Ehwal Islam , Ilham Suci , Syiar Ramadhan , Nur Penyuluh Alam ,

Gema Takbir Aidilfitri , Ramadhan Al-Mubarak , Nadwah Perdana , Bicara Ramadhan ,Bicara Islam . Among the Live Commentary over TV1 RTM were The Demise of TheFirst Lady Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood , His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan AgongSultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah AlHaj , His Majesty The Raja of Perlis Tuanku SyedPutra Jamalullail , Istiadat Menghadap & Pengurniaan Darjah Darjah Kebesaran &Bintang Bintang Malaysia sempena Ulangtahun Keputeraan SPB YDP Agong Ke-12 ,Majlis Tilawah Al-Quran Peringkat Kebangsaan & Antarabangsa , Sambutan MaulidRasul & Maal Hijrah Peringkat Kebangsaan and many more. Among the Radio Dramasperformed and acted were Keluarga Cikgu Zainon , Purbawara , Dra-Irama (Kisah &Lagu) and Olak-Alik Kehidupan .

Among other profession performed on freelancing basis as well were Arabic Languageand Islamic Civilization Tutor at Universiti Putra Malaysia started 2000 up to 2004 and

also a Radio Producer and Announcer at Broadcasting Division (Radio) Department ofIslamic Development Malaysia . I am a member of The VoiceGuild Kuala Lumpur &Selangor (No.94) , Malaysia Translator Association (MTA-No.938) and also Kelantan

Jembal Royal Family Association (No.0828). I was a Volunteer Military Officer Lieutenant at the 515 Regiment Kuala Lumpur and also columnist for BacariaMagazine (Religious Section).

My involvement in broadcasting had afforded me the opportunity to appear as amotivator , master of ceremony in Malay , Arabic and English for various government, social and corporate events . Instead of being as a " voice seller " , I have also beenemphasizing on translation activites and delivering motivational and religioustalks for governmental departments , government link companies (GLC) ,regularatory bodies , Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) , schools and mosquesaround Klang Valley as well as the entire peninsular. Apart of being as emcee forvarious events , I also offer my service to lead prayer recital in the governmental andcorporate official events be it nationally as well as internationally. Considering thatvoice business is a part time job but doing it with enthusiasm , I will be available onshort notice job even though it is recommended to book early.
