Take A Trip to the Islands Without ake A Trip to the Islands Without ake A Trip to the Islands Without ake A Trip to the Islands Without Leaving Town! Leaving Town! Leaving Town! Leaving Town! February is just about the depth of winter here in upstate New York, and outside of diehard skiers and snowmobile enthusiasts, many of us are starting to dream about warm tempera- tures—perhaps a getaway to someplace tropical and exotic. Since that may not be an option for some, why not bring a little bit of the tropics here to Ballston Spa? The Ballston Spa Business and Professional As- sociation is hosting a Winter Luau Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, February 27 at Manna’s Restaurant, 17 Low Street in Ballston Spa. What better way to fight the winter blues and help our community than by spending an evening at a luau! Enjoy cocktails starting at 6 pm with a full dinner buffet, including a Hawaiian pig roast, at 7 pm. There will be a silent auction from 6-9 pm featuring specially donated items and services from many local businesses, a limbo contest, music and dancing, including a Hawaiian dance demo. Tickets are a bargain, too—just $30 per person. Proceeds from the event, as with all BSBPA fundraisers, go right back into community to support free events like our concerts and films as well as village beautification through- out the year. Tickets are available in advance from any BSBPA board member, online at our secure site www.ballston.org or call 885-2772. Tickets will also be available at the door. Hawaiian attire is encouraged (come on, where else are you going to wear that shirt?) but not required. Are You Current With Your BSBPA Dues?

As we approach the end of our fiscal year in March, the budget committee is in the process of preparing our budget for 2010-11. Membership dues are a big part of the equation, as we depend on the support of our membership through their dues to fund the many free events and activities we sponsor, as well as keep us ever improving in providing benefits to our members. In order to have a clearer picture of our available budget for next year, it is important to have the most reliable membership figures. We currently have members who have not paid or fully paid their 2009-10 dues in the past few months. You would have received an invoice by mail followed by an email re-minder. In order to continue to be an active member, it is important that your dues be up to date. If you are unsure about your dues status, please don’t hesitate to contact Ellen at [email protected] or 885-2772 and we can make sure everything is square. Thanks!
