Brothers, Families, and Friends of Council 367,

The Month of December started with many of our

Brother still basking in glow from the success of our 5th

momentum.

Once again, let’s reflect on how our recent and

way to make a little better Christmas for some local families

during these challenging times. Our Council has been

blessed with incredibly generous Brothers, Family and

Friends. Thank you for generously donating food and funds

for the wonderful program. Thank you to Past Grand Knight

John Escuadra for coordinating this program.

We wrapped up our Coats for Kids Drive. We have

a good number of new and gently used coats for local

provided after I complete the shopping for coats with the

funds donated. Thank you to all who donated and

participated in our fundraising efforts.

Knight of the Month

December was another extremely busy month full

of Holiday cheer. We could not have completed our events

so successfully without the participation of Our Knight of

the Month for January 2016. He has consistently been active

and involved providing his amazing support. He can always

be counted on to lend a much needed helping hand.

It is my pleasure to announce our Knight of the Month for

January 2016 is Brother Barry Fitzgibbons.

Congratulations!

Vivat Jesus,

Rod

Family of the Month

Our Family of the Month for January 2016 can be

found supporting numerous Council events. To note a few:

They teamed up to handle the large, thirsty crowd at our

Oyster Roast. They were also very helpful at the Special

Olympics Roller Skating event and donated coats for our

Coats for Kids drive. They attend St Pius X and he is our

Council’s newest Fourth Degree Knight after his

exemplification ceremony in October and she is a member of

the Ladies Auxiliary.

I am pleased to announce our Family of the Month

for January 2016 is Thomas and Toni Ziemba.. Thanks so

much for all you do for our Council.

Congratulations!

Vivat Jesus,

Rod

Grand Knight’s Message, from Page 1

Our first event of December was serving dinner for

the NEST Program at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Our NEST Program participation continues by closing out

December 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church and in

mid-January 2016 at St, Pius X Catholic Church.

Patriotism: On December 20th

, the Military Arch

Bishop celebrated Mass at Our Lady of Victory Chapel on

board Naval Station Norfolk. Knights from Council 367 and

Fourth Degree Assembly 1162 proudly represented our local

councils.

Unity: On December 13th,

numerous Knights

including representation from Assembly 1162 in regalia

participated in Knights United at Mass at Christ the King

Catholic Church.

Fraternity: Friends and family of our Council

showed off the outstanding culinary skills at the Christmas

Potluck Dinner as the food was absolutely fantastic and a

good time was had by all. Two days later the Christmas

spirit was still ringing through the cooler temperatures as

Santa visited the Council for our Fabulous Sunday Family

Breakfast. We served over 90 patrons who came in hungry

but left satisfied. Thanks to our Worthy Chancellor, Larry

Forsythe for doing a great job organizing these events. Of

course, Thank you to our amazing Kitchen Crew for another

outstanding job!

Go! Make a difference...

Vivat Jesus,

Rod Watson

Council Activities, from Page 1

LENTEN FISH FRIES – They’ll start on February

12th

and go for six weeks. We’re still short of some

volunteers to form a team. Please consider helping out with

this worthwhile fund raiser. All proceeds go to funding the

Norfolk Schools Luncheon for the intellectual disability kids.

FABULOUS FAMILY BREAKFAST &

FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIALS – What a great turnout for the

December breakfast with Santa Claus (aka Kathy Grimm).

Please support the next one on January 17th

. Also the Friday

Night Socials will be back starting on January 8th. The

socials are a great way to relax after the week with some

delicious food and friendly fellowship. Let’s put a little

warmth in our lives and get out this winter and start

socializing with your Brothers and their families.

HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL OF YOU!

Vivat Jesus,

John Person

Ladies Auxiliary to the Knights

of Columbus Council #367 Ladies Auxiliary – Next meeting: January 12 at

6:30 in the Social Hall

Now that the holidays are over, the Ladies Auxiliary

will resume their regular schedule of events by hosting a soup

and sandwich supper for the Friday night social on January 8.

We will serve a variety of soups and paninis. Please come

out and support the ladies in their efforts to raise funds for

local charities.

Because of the holiday hustle and bustle we did not

have a social meeting in December. We will determine at the

January meeting where we will hold the Ladies social

meeting for January.

Planning has begun to hold a Paint Party as a fund

raiser in February or March. The event will be open to the

public and reservations will need to be made in advance. We

will limit the event to 40 or 50 people. Heavy hors-d’voeures

and all paint materials will be included in the price for the

event and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

I have never attended one of these parties but I am told by

those who have attended that they are a lot of fun. More

information will follow as the date and arrangements are

finalized so watch the newsletter and Facebook page.

Membership is open to all spouses, adult daughters,

and mothers of Knights. Please consider membership and

come join the fun. Winter has arrived so stay safe and keep

warm.

The Ladies wish all of you and your families a

Happy New Year.
