SERVICES RESOURCES BLOG Dear All, True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but to serve others at whatever cost.” - ARTHUR ASHE That quote holds true even weeks after the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey and reminds us how proud we are to live in the great city of Houston. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were affected as they struggle to get back to their normal lives. We at L&A were very blessed and are more motivated than ever to provide the best service to our clients as we work through the busy fall season. That being said, we are proud to announce that our latest Texas Top Guns analysis for 2017-2018 is complete! We are happy to share that data with all of you in this month’s L-Blast. Our analysis includes proxy disclosures of 363 of Texas’ top public company CEOs. We hope you find this report insightful and beneficial. Additionally, we have some interesting articles to share with you this month. The first is an original L&A article on Merit Pay in which we explain L&A’s approach to setting compensation levels and our Generally Accepted Compensation Principles model. The next article may be very helpful to those of you who are dealing with the effects of Harvey, specifically how to pay employees and the laws governing employee compensation during a natural disaster. Lastly, we have an article from WorldatWork about the change in reporting requirements for private sector employers – they are no longer required to disclose pay and hours worked on the new EEO-1 form. We would also like to remind you that October 1st is the first date many companies can run their median employee analytics for purposes of CEO Pay Ratio. We appreciate each and every one of you. As always, let us know if there is a particular subject you’d like to learn more about.
