Weather Bulletin Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at

7:30pm on Tuesday the 23rd of February 2016 Situation: A trough of low

pressure lies to the north of Fiji. Another trough lies just to the west of the group.

The associated clouds and rain affect most parts of the group. Forecast to

midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group: Occasional rain and few thunderstorms.

Isolated heavy falls likely. Moderate to fresh northwest to northeast winds, gusty

at times. Moderate to rough seas. Outlook for Thursday: Rain easing.

AREA OPERATION

Nayagi Borehole Genset has been temporarily fixed and

Nayagi WTP back in service. Awaiting delivery of backup

Genset from Aggreko.

Pacific Heights is the only remaining area to receive Water

Carting.

Water Carting is currently servicing this area via two (2)

trucks.

Korovou Korovou Normal. Genset in operation

QVS Team of WAF Carpenter has been deployed to fix damaged pump

house roof structure.

Electricians has also been deployed to service the pumps and

switchboard prior to recommissioning.

RKS RKS normal.Genset in operation.Saiyaro area still without water as

burst main on bridge crossing is still underwater. Repair to be

carried out once water level recedes.

Suva/Nausori FEA power restored to Waila, Waimanu & Savura Pump

Station and are operational as of 2144hrs last night

4.2.2 Update: Water Authority of Fiji

Pipe Laying at Nakasia and Narara to connect to Raw Water system. Request: Ration from Petty cash to cater for team upon restoration of

supply to customers.

Tavua Operations team have started filling up Tavua reservoir.

Masimasi-2.2m Tavua-1.8m Malele reservoir is starting to fill up.

System still running on genset with one intake and booster pumps at a time. 02 Water carting trucks given by Commissioner West to cater for Tavua.

Ba Temporary Genset for Varaciva Pumping Station installed Flushing and Cleaning of Waiwai Treatment Plant 4 Watercart trucks operating to supply affected areas. Tauvegavega Pump has been fixed, waiting pump team to test. Supply towards Varavu uptil Natutu has been 6amaged6d to build

up level at Waiwai. Supply wil be rationed accordingly with reservoir level. Varaciva Pump generator needs to be fixed in order to boost

Blocked Navau intake has been cleared.

Inflow into Benau from Navau source normalized.

Benau Reservoir level increased from 0.20 m this morning to 2.95 m at

1700hrs.

Nasealevu raw water supply line yet to be accessed; Flooding at Dogoru

River Crossing.

Nasarava System normalized.

Listed below are some of the areas that are still being affected by low

pressure and also no water during this period of shut down. Soasoa,

Wailevu Village, Bucalevu and Qelewaqa.

Supply to the following areas has been reopened: Rara, Lajonia,

Vunivau, Basoga, Bulileka at 2000 hrs.

Seaqaqa, Vunimanuca, Dreketi

Seaqaqa & Dreketi currently operating on GENSET. Normal Operation

including Vunimanuca.

An excavator and a 3 ton Tipper has been engaged to assist WAF team

in Nabouwalu for restoration works.

Savusavu

The blocked Moliwawa and Savuloaloa raw water intake that caused

no water supply to the residents at Savusavu has been cleared.

Vunikoka pump station genset has been installed and is operational.

Burst Mains on the 150mm gravity line to Vunikoka Booster pump

station. WAF team currently carrying out repair works; once

complete, Vunikoka pump station should start pumping to

Delainavaqiqi Reservoir.

All customers fed through the gravity system are receiving water.

Customers at elevated areas fed out of Delainavaqiqi Reservoir

should start receiving water once Reservoir is filled.

Tavutikau Reservoir level has increased from 0.00 m to 1.20 m as of

1800 hrs.

Divisional EOCs need to get Agencies (FRA, FEA, and WAF) to synchronise

data from Divisional to national level to ensure that statistics tally and provide constant updates to the NEOC
