(9) BILLY HO

There was a man by the name of Billy Ho He had a goat and that was all

One day this goat was feelin fine Ate six red shirts, right off the line, First Billy cursed, and then he swore That this darn goat, would eat no more. .

He took him by, his wooly back And he tied him to, the railroad track.

The big black train, was coming by, and this poor goat, was sure to die.

He gave three shrieks, in mortal pain Coughed up those shirts, and flagged the train.

The engineer stopped, got out to see, What this strange sight, on the tracks could be.

And when he saw, it was a goat, He took his knife and slit his throat.

Now this poor/goat, was surely dead, He went to heaven, without his head.

When he got there, St. Peter said, Tell me poor goat, Where is your head?

The goat replied, I cannot tell, It must have gone, straight down to ••••

(10) TITANIC

Oh they built the ship Titanic, To sail the ocean blue And they said it was a ship That the sea could never pass through It was on her maiden trip That an iceberg hit the ship It was said when the great ship went down .

Chorus : It was sad, so sad, it was s ad, so sad, It was sad when the great ship went down to the bottom of the , Husbands and wives, little children l ost their lives It was sad when the great ship went down .

It wa s near the English shore, 'bout a thousand miles or more, When the rich refused to associate with the poor SQ they put them down below Where they were the first to go It was sad when the great ship went down. (Chorus)

Little children wept and cried As the waves swept over the side And the band on deck played "Lord with Me Abide". Oh the heroes saved the weak as the ship began to leak, It was sad when the great ship went down. (Chorus)

Now the morale that we gain, Of all this woe and pain Is that if you're rich you should not be so vain For in the good Lord's eyes, You're the same as other guys It was sad when the great ship went down. (Chorus)

Boris was a gentleman in the Czars regime Boris was a gentleman although it did not seem. Boris had a lady friend, Her name was Miss Louine And often on the coldest nights, She'd wake right up and scream

Boris came a riding on a horse playing on the fiddle, Boris on the horse, sagging in the middle Twas the horis, not Boris Playing on the fiddle. (Chorus)

(12) MERMAID SONG

Twas Friday night when we set sail And we were not far from the land When the captain spyed a pretty mermaid With a comb and a brush in her hand.

Chorus: On the ocean waves may roll And the balmy breezes may blow While we poor sailors Go skipping through the tops And the land lubbers lie down below, below, below While the land lubbers lie down below.

Then up spoke the captain of our gallant ship And a well spoken captain was he. I have me a wife in Salem Town And tonite a widow she will be.

Then up spoke the cookie of our gallant ship And a red hot cookie was he. I care much more for my pots and my pans Than I do for the bottom of the sea.

PAGE 4

For three times around went our gallant ship And three times around went she. And three times around went our gallant ship, And she sunk to the bottom of the sea.

Page 6: TROOP 45 SONG SHEET #1 Scouting... · (three times) Workin' on the railroad 1852 looking around for someting to do 1853 railroad company hired me 1854 found my back was mighty sore

One day a boy came walking, a-walking in the store And bought a pound of sausages and put them on the floor The boy began a whistle, and he whistled up a tune And all the little sausages went dancing 'round the room.

One day the darn thing busted, the darn thing wouldn't go And Dunderbeck climbed into it, the reason for to know His wife was having a nightmare, and was walking in h~r sleep, The she gave the crank a-heck-of a yank, and Dunderbeck was meat.

(15) SIPPING CIDER

The prettiest girl I ever sa\07 Was sippin' cider through a straw

(Repeat every stanza)

I said to her, whatche doin' that for, A-sippin' cider through a straw

She said to me, why don't you know, that sippin' cider's all I know.

Then cheek to cheek, and jaw to jaw, we both sipped sider through a straw.

And sudden-ly, the straw did slip, And we sipped cider lip to lip.

That's how I got, My mother-inlaw, A-sippin' cider through a straw.

Now forty-nine kids, all call me paw, From sippin' cider through a straw.

Now boys and girls, take my advice And don't sip cider through a straw.

That's al~ there is, there ain't no more, From sippin' cider through a straw.
