Transcript of Tron Legacy Poster
-
The use of the word
legacy suggests
something from the
past. This could be
a reference to the
1982 film or it may
have some
importance in this
film. The Disney
logo is placed above
the title of the film
so the audience
straight away
knows who it is
produced by and
what to expect, for
example what
quality the film will
be. Also as Disney is
very well known
may know it will
have financial
backing which also
affects the quality
and standard of the
film. The Tron logo
is in a futuristic type
font and the colour
also matches the
rest of the colour
scheme on the
poster; the light
blue theme that is
consistent with the
poster.
The white beam of light is important on this movie poster due to the reason that it
is the vertical focal point of the poster. The colour represents purity and it looks like
it is emerging from the main character, implying a sense of physical or possibly
mental strength. Also, the grey stormy sky implies that the plot is not simple and
clear. It will contain difficulties and struggle. The unusual setting creates a mystery
for the audience. The two beams of light at the bottom of the poster which lead up
to the main characters and builds a circle around them emphasises the importance
of them.
The two characters that appear on the poster give the audience the impression that
there is a relationship of some form between them. You also know straight away that
they will be the main characters in the film due to them being on this poster and
being in the centre of it. We can tell that there is a relationship and possibly a close
one between the two characters due to how the woman stands next to the male. The
male character in the poster also appears to be a very strong and quite a dominant
figure and it seems that she is very reliant on him, which also comes across due to the
way they are standing with each other.
There are slight
orange lines on
the left hand side
of the poster
which suggest
that the colour
orange will be
very important in
the film. It also
contrasts with the
blue theme of the
poster which is
prominent in the
poster. Also,
below the credit
block at the
bottom of the
poster, it states
that the movie
will be in 3D; this
is becoming more
popular within
the newer films
as the
revolutionary
technology for
films draws more
of an audience. It
also states the
release date
which creates a
lot of excitement
within the
audience.
