Supplies• Yellow 50/50 gumpaste/fondant mixture• Dark green 50/50 gumpaste/fondant mixture• Pink petal dust• Lilac petal dust• 20 gauge green floral wire• Wire cutters• Scissors• Petal & calyx cutter• Rolling pin, sponge foam, dog bone tool, toothpick
Step One• Roll large pea size yellow 50/50 gumpaste/fondant
mixture

Step Two• Flatten half the ball into petal shape keeping other
half fat. Roll out thinned side with rolling pin until almost paper thin.
Step Three• Take wire and make a hook. Place aside for time
being.

Step Four• Fold right side of petal into the middle.
Step Five• Fold left side of petal into the middle wrapping
around the base and using a toothpick ruffle and curl tip.

Step Six• Put wire in edible glue (egg white).
Step Seven• Insert hooked end into base of bud.

Step Eight• Dust base of bud with pink petal dust.
Step Nine• Dust tip with lilac petal dust.

Step Ten• Roll out yellow gumpaste/fondant mixture till paper
thin. (Notice the wording can be seen through the paste!)
Step Eleven• Cut out eight petals place five under a glass to keep
fresh while working on first layer of three petals.

Step Twelve• Ruffle edges with dog bone tool of three petals.
Step Thirteen• Dust base of petals with pink petal dust.

Step Fourteen• Dust top of petals with lilac petal dust.
Step Fifteen• Put a bit of glue (egg white) on the base and edge
of each petal.• Interlock and wrap around bud keeping top free and
open.• Ruffle and pinch the three petal tops with your

Step Sixteen• Repeat steps twelve through fourteen with next
layer of five petals.
Step Seventeen• Get dark green and yellow 50/50 gumpaste/fondant
mixture for calyx.

Step Eighteen• Roll out paper thin.
Step Nineteen• Put yellow over green and roll together.

Step Twenty• Cut out calyx and soften edges with dog bone tool.
Step Twenty One• Cut some slits into each calyx petal for a more
lifelike look.

Step Twenty Two• Apply glue (egg white) thread calyx up wire and fold
around rose base curling tiny tendrils you previously cut with scissors.
Step Twenty Three• Roll small pea size dark gumpaste/fondant mixture
into tear drop shape.

Step Twenty Four• With small end of dog bone tool make indentation in
fat end of tear drop and then add a bit of glue.
Step Twenty Five• Thread up wire and fix against calyx of your rose.• Place rose into Styrofoam block to dry.
