BRIDGE PASTOR’S MESSAGE
It’s the American way, right? Take whatever circumstances you’re facing and improve upon them! Make a task more efficient. Add more memory, better quality, additional features! What does it really mean to have a better life? What additional features do we truly need? Following Jesus’ resurrection appearance and before the arrival of the Holy Spirit, the disciples were facing great uncertainty…. what should they do? Wait for Jesus to tell them what was next? Go back to their old life? What had been the purpose of all this learning and living with their friend? In John 21, Peter said, “I’m going fishing!” That was the life he knew… so the group goes out in the boat but they don’t catch anything! However, soon Jesus shows up with instructions. “Cast the net to the right side of the boat!” Soon they are hauling in more than they could handle – what is happening? Maybe it is time – right now, while the world is on “pause” – to look to Jesus for instructions about “what’s next?” Is there a new direction for you? Is it time to pursue a passion you’ve been putting off? Maybe it is difficult to know what move to take – what step is next? Look deep inside – taking a step – and trust Jesus! When he shows up and leads the way there are amazing results! WORSHIP NOTES FOR MAY As “Pandemic life” continues on, we are challenged to make worship meaningful and stay connected to one another. Because we are all forced to be online for now, here are some ways to share our talents, our art, our voice, our passions. PLEASE CONSIDER WHAT COULD BE YOUR CONTRIBUTION!!! -Read the Sunday lessons on a recording or video; – Send in prayer requests; - WRITE some prayers; - send a picture and explanation of its meaning; - share a YouTube link to a worship song and tell why it is meaningful to you; - share a thought, a poem, a greeting. LET’S ALL PARTICIPATE!

While the tragedy of this virus rages on through our nation; one thing remains the same – the advertisers are busy giving all of us ideas about how to make purchases that will help us cope with the challenges of pandemic life. It’s a perfect time to buy a latte machine – you can enjoy your favorite frothy brew from home! Need an upgrade to your video capabilities? Switch up your phone – get a better monitor – add a new iPad so you can Zoom your meeting and your book group and high School class reunion planning team on different devices. Running out of meal ideas? There’s a new complete-meal-prep service that will deliver a week’s worth of ready-to-cook meals right to your door.
BOLT has a new Operation Christmas Child donation center in the Education wing where you can bring donations throughout the year. We packed 118 boxes the past year, which was so exciting for the kids. We are looking to continue with the goal of 100 boxes next year, so if you have items to donate, please bring them in anytime of the year. Each month, I will share some ideas to consider donating, so this month, let’s think about STUFFED ANIMALS!
We were very saddened to cancel BOLT since the beginning of March; we do miss seeing the kids every week, but we hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. At this point, we are starting to plan our VBS for this summer along with kicking BOLT off in the Fall. It was a great year and we thank the families for bringing their children to BOLT every week and sharing in God’s love.
Friendly reminder that we have a Closed Facebook group where I post what is happening with BOLT on a regular basis. You can request to join here: Trinity Lutheran BOLT

VBS HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR THIS YEAR!
Luther Point Bible Camp had to cancel our Vacation Bible School for August.
Finally, I have been blessed with running the Education program at Trinity for the past six years transforming it from Sunday School to BOLT. I love the kids, I love teaching them about Gods love, and I love guiding them in their faith journeys. I am informing you that my time will be concluding in January 2021 as the Education leader. I am hoping that BOLT will continue strong at Trinity and I pray that I find someone willing to lead this ministry at Trinity. If you are interested in stepping up in this ministry, please let me know. I am more than willing to help guide and support you.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday September 9! This will be our BOLT Kick-off event!

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” ~1 Thessalonians 5:11
Firstly, thank you for your generous giving in spite of the COVID-19 Safer at Home quarantine. In this month’s newsletter, we’ve included the Time and Talent form again for you to select an activity for 2020 that connects you with one of the small group ministries at Trinity. Someone asked if by selecting a category, you would be volunteering to lead that team. Only if you would be interested in doing that. There is still a vacancy on the Evangelism Team. Now that we are all staying home, it would be a good time to fill out the form and mail it to Trinity at PO BOX 68, Hammond WI 54015. This is an efficient way for you to be involved in one of Trinity’s ministries of your choice. Thanks for your cooperation. Hopefully we are getting closer to be able to be together again in person. God’s work, our hands. Trinity Stewardship Team
Special congregational meeting to be held on Sunday, June 14th after worship.
We will also be approving the last 6-months of our yearly budget.
Recommendations to be voted on in the special church meeting:
1. Recommendation has been made by the church council to change the terms of a council member position from three-year to two-year. Rational: A two-year term may be easier to make a commitment to then a three-year term.
2. Recommendation that a council member can serve two terms. After two terms or four years on the council the member would have to be off the council for one-year before running for another position.
QUILTING
The presentation of the quilts to the graduating seniors has been put on hold for the present time. We want to continue this tradition of presenting the quilts and blessing our seniors and their families. Watch for a letter when we know what
Sunday the presentation will take place.
