Dear Parents,
It has been an excellent start to the term with the children quickly settling into a solid working routine. Again I remind parents that Term 4 is extremely busy so please keep your eye on the dates section of the newsletter. Over the last two weeks grades 4 and 6 have undertaken their swimming program and Paul Sadler. Thanks to the parents for your support of the program which is now a requirement of the Victorian Curriculum. Grades 3 and 5 will be undertaking water safety lessons in the classrooms. Foundation and Grade 1 will undertake a day of water familiarisation in December. Grade 2 will commence their swimming lessons on November 8th. A big thanks to all staff for their flexibility throughout the swimming lessons, it has a large impact across the school. I particularly thank Nicole Cahill, Dianna Woolf and Liz Jones for their organisation and coordination of the program. Congratulations to our Year 5 Hooptime basketball team who competed at regional level yesterday. It was a wonderful effort to get to this level of competition. Thanks to Nicole Cahill and Dianna Woolf for their organisation.
Last night we had another Carnival Committee meeting. Plans are
progressing well for what will be another great day. Please keep Sunday the
25th of March 2018 free in your diary. It is an expectation that all families
will assist with the Carnival in some capacity as all students will directly
benefit from the funds raised. A reminder that all parent helpers within the
school require a current Working With Children's Card. If you do not yet have
one talk to the ladies in the Office about how you go about obtaining one.
Next Friday 27th October will be a Free Dress Day for the students to
raise money for The Cancer Council and Catholic Mission. More information
can be found in the newsletter.
Grandparents Day is approaching fast; it w ill be on Friday 10 th November. This is one of the highlights of the year at Trinity. As part of the liturgy, we would like to put together a power point of images of the student’s grandparents (or special friends) and would love every family to be represented. If you have any photos of your children with their grandparents, or just of their grandparents / special friends, could you please email them to [email protected] over the next two weeks?
Invitations to this day have been sent home with students today and is also included in this newsletter.
SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY P lease be aware that the Monday before Melbourne Cup Day, the 6th of November, is a Student Free Day. The staff will be using this time for report writing.
Regards,
Simon Dell'Oro

GRANDPARENT’S DAY Fri Nov 10th
Please remember to email your photos of your children and their
grandparents (or special friends) to
An invitation for this day has been sent home with students today and
also included to this newsletter
28thSunday in Ordinary Time Matthew 22:1-10
Reflection:
Can you imagine being invited to a wonderful banquet where all kinds of delicious foods are being served - everything you could ever want,
and there are all kinds of different people there as guests? The host welcomes you and you know you are welcome at this banquet.
Sunday’s Gospel compares a banquet like that to the Kingdom of Heaven to try to give us a hint of what the kingdom is like. We are the
very welcome guests at the wonderful banquet the Lord has provided.
Possible discussion:
What did the King in the Gospel decide to do for his son?
What happened when the servants invited the guests?
When the guests didn’t come who did the King invite?
Jesus says the kingdom of heaven is like this story.
Who does God invite to the banquet? We are invited to God’s banquet. How do we
show we accept the invitation?
TERM 4 SOCIAL JUSTICE FUNDRAISER FREE DRESS DAY – 27th OCTOBER 2017

All parents/Guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.
Further details are available from the school office or the Justice Department website. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.
A reminder to all Parents/Carers, supervision by School Staff begins at 8.30am before school and after school only at the drop
off area until 3.30pm.
Please observe and supervise your children, as they play on the equipment.
Thank you for your co-operation
TRINITY CAR PARK ETIQUETTE For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all
drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. I f your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
THE GATES CLOSE AT 9.00am AND RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. Occasionally they might re-open slightly later due to school activities.
The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others.

Stewardship Reflections
“For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s” - ROMANS 14:8 This is the essence of stewardship — everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God. We aren’t “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts that God has given us, especially our very own lives. Pray to God daily, and ask Him how He wants you to use the gifts He has given you.
