Please don’t bike, skate or play around bus stops or at MAX stations.

Follow the signals, look both ways and only cross the street or MAX tracks at designated crossing areas.

MAX needs plenty of time to stop — don’t try to cut in front of a moving train!

Stand behind the white bumpy strip at MAX stations while waiting for the train to arrive.

Stay seen when it’s dark out by wearing flashing lights or reflective clothing.

Hang onto the handrails to avoid falling while the bus or train is starting and stopping.

TriMet is Safety First!

The first bridge of its kind in the U.S., Tilikum Crossing carries MAX Orange Line trains, buses, streetcars, cyclists and pedestrians over the Willamette River.

Only bus, MAX, bikes and people can cross over Tilikum Crossing — no cars allowed!

Tilikum means “people”, “tribe” and “relatives” in Chinook Wawa — an international language that was used by the first Oregonians.
