They are short stories that usually have only two or three characters.

Iktomi and the Buzzard

Some trickster tales are about weak people or tiny animalsoutwitting their stronger enemies.

They are very old stories passedDown from one generation to another. Originally told orally. They reflect the culture in which they originated.

Action builds through repetition. There is an exciting climax at the end.Goodness and intelligence win outover evil and foolishness.

Trickster Tales end with a moral or a lesson.

“If a person is clever, it is because someone has taught them their cleverness.”

Setting takes place in the distant past or a timeless place.dese

There is usually a problem anda solution to the problem.

"Coyote takes water from the Frog people... because it is not right that one people have all the water."

Told from a 3rd person point of view.
