The Tri-Lakes Region occupies the northern most part ofEl Paso County, Colorado. Geographically, we are theheart of the highlands, a short distance between Denverand Colorado Springs. We are a land of red rockescarpments, undulating pine forests, Front Rangemountain backdrops crested in blue sky and dotted withpowder puff clouds.
We share our home with the U.S. Air Force Academy. Thecommunities of Monument, Palmer Lake and Woodmoorare the center of our commerce and for which the regionalname is derived. The primarily unincorporated areas ofBlack Forest, Gleneagle and Larkspur are representativeof our popular and developing residential areas, makingthe Tri-Lakes one of the most diverse regions in Colorado.
Several hundred businesses serve our growing region ofover 35,000 residences, making us a consumer-basedeconomy. Technology and education also are at home inNorthern El Paso County. Software products and services, advanced communication and electronic technologies aresupported by the Pikes Peak Community College systemand our large professional technical workforce.
The small-town ambiance and historic flavor of Monumentand Palmer Lake are the very best “getaways” forshopping, relaxation, exploring, hiking and biking in ourregion. Come and experience what we have in store foryou.
Do what many of us do: take a break from the interstate, drive between Denver and Colorado Springs, jump off theI-25 corridor at Larkspur or Monument and enjoy the idyllicdrive among the rock outcrops and mountain vistas thattake you along State Route 105. Stop for lunch, browsethe shops, enjoy your favorite ice cream or just experiencethe change of pace.
