Please accept a warm welcome from all here at Trestle and a thank you for taking the time
to read what we have to offer in this, our Show Hire Pack.
As a theatre company with 30 years experience, we know how important it is to find the
right place to enable creativity to develop and flourish. From concept through to
performance; for workshop, rehearsal and performance space, Trestle has the facilities to
help you with your aspirations right down to a café/bar to socialise and relax in. Whether
for dance or drama, music or song for young or old, we believe you’ll find no better place to
learn your craft.
What makes Trestle Arts Base unique is not only its beautiful building with its stunning
contemporary interior but the history behind the many diverse strands of Trestle Theatre
Company itself. We think you’ll agree it is rare for a small touring company with a history in
specialising in mask work to experience international success, set up an educational
division, continue producing and touring its own shows and set up its own Arts Base.
We don’t believe in standing still or relying on a single formula; we believe in constantly
evolving which is why Trestle has itself diversified into touring Physical Theatre, and
educational work. We still make educational masks and run mask workshops, but now run
as many physical theatre workshops and are involved in many collaborative projects with
charities, theatre and community groups. In theatre we feel there is room for everyone and
that creativity is only limited by our imaginations.
Passionate as we are about the Arts, we now want to help others in their creative journeys
for who knows where your own workshop or shows might lead?
We offer three main spaces for hire:
The TheatreThe TheatreThe TheatreThe Theatre – a perfect place to rehearse and perform with professional sound and lighting
equipment complete with fully trained technicians.
The StudioThe StudioThe StudioThe Studio – ideal for dance and movement with mirrored wall and sprung floor.
The ApexThe ApexThe ApexThe Apex – a stunning space to hold your read-through, production meetings and
rehearsals for small groups.
We hope that you will pop in for a coffee and come and see a show, but are rather hoping
you’ll want to hire our spaces too!
With our very best wishes
