History of TrenčínTrenčín was among the most important cities of

Slovakia. It was settled already in Stone Age. There settled Romans too. They inscribed inscription on rock of Trenčín´s castle and they called Trenčín – Laugaricio. Trenčín acquired lots of privileges and laws in Middle Ages. Here happened lots of calamities and wars - plague was spread here. On this illness died almost 1600 people. So here's monument - Plaguey column. In this town are lots of another historic relics and the most important is the castle.
