Linde, engl. lime / linden Beschreibung / description: *summergreen tree, *age can be 1000 years, *girth is 1-2 meters, *max. height 15-40 meters (depends on the ground) Verbreitung / dissemination: The genus Linden comprises about 20 to 45 species, they are mainly found in temperate to subtropical areas. In Middle Europe, so in Germany too, we find 2 species only (winter-and summer lime). Standort /location: Can stand alone. Typical street-tree. You can find the tree in forests too. Nutzung / use: Wood is used mainly in sculpture, carving and turnery. Used for furniture, Toys, kitchen appliances and clogs and much more, like pencils and parts of musical instruments.

Pappel, engl. poplar Beschreibung / description: *summergreen tree, *age can be 100-200 years, *girth is 1-2 meters, *max. height 30-45 meters (depends on the ground) Verbreitung / dissemination: You can find this tree in the northern Hemisphere. Special species are in Mexico and Northern Africa and in the tropical areas of China. Standort /location: Dont need a special place. The tree prefer places with water. So you find them near lakes. Nutzung / use: Wood is used for paper production, energy. The Furniture industry use it too, but is not the main wood.

Lärche, engl. larch Beschreibung / description: *summergreen tree, but belong to the family of Pinaceae, *girth is 2-3 meters, *max. height 40-50 meters (depends on the ground) Verbreitung / dissemination: Eurasia and Northern America Standort /location: They often grow in the northern jungles and forests. Some times the tree stands alone for instance in gardens and parks. Nutzung / use: The wood is used as construction and furniture wood.

Birke, engl. birch Beschreibung / description: *summergreen tree, *age can be till 160 years, *girth is about 1meter, *max. height 30 meters (depends on the ground) Verbreitung / dissemination: The up to 100 birch species occur in many parts of the northern hemisphere, in Europe, in North America (especially on the East Coast) and in Asia to Japan.

Standort /location: The tree is not a claim on the ground. He is a colonizer. Birches thrive both on dry and wet soils. Nutzung / use: The wood is used as furniture wood and for burning (heating). It is not good for building industry.

Buche, engl. beech Beschreibung / description: *summergreen tree, *girth is 2-3 meters, *age over 200 years, *max. height 40 meters (depends on the ground) Verbreitung / dissemination: You find the tree in the northern temperate zone in North America and Eurasia. 16% of trees in Germany is beech in different species. Standort /location: Need sunny places. Popular tree in parks. Has problems in forests. Nutzung / use: The wood is used for toys and furniture, flooring, stairs and paper industry.

Esche, engl. ash-tree Beschreibung / description: *summergreen tree, *girth is 40-50cm, *age 250-300 years, *max. height 40 meters (depends on the ground) Verbreitung / dissemination: The ash is occurring in Central Europe and beyond species Standort /location: The ash needs mineral, deep, fresh to moist soils in not too warm, rather humid, bright and late frost layers to achieve maximum plant height. If the tree become older it needs more light. Nutzung / use: The precious wood is used in furniture industry.

Kiefer, engl. pine Beschreibung / description: *conifer *girth is 40-50cm, *age 700-1000 years, *max. height 50-60 meters (depends on the ground), * forms of pine cones Verbreitung / dissemination: Pines are the world's most important tree species in forestry. Mostly in the northern hemisphere. Standort /location: The Tree has small claims. Grows well in sandy soil. Often grown in monocultures. Need a lot of water. Over a long period, they damage the soil. Nutzung / use: The wood is used as cconstruction and furniture wood for indoor use as well as use as firewood. It is used for roofs, for wood paneling, railings, stairs, framed structures for walls and ceilings, floors, windows, doors and gates

Fichte, engl. spruce Beschreibung / description: *conifer *girth is 1-2.5 m, *age can be 600 years, *max. height 20-60 meters (depends on the ground), * forms of pine cones (2-20 cm long) Verbreitung / dissemination: Mostly in the northern hemisphere, Eurasia and Noth-America. Some species are in China and Central Asia. Standort /location: Spruces are generally modest in the nutrient. Waterlogging is not tolerated by spruce

Nutzung / use: Spruce count on the northern hemisphere of the most important tree species used for forestry. Belongs to the range of applications, its use for paper and pulp production, as construction and furniture wood for indoor use as well as use as firewood.

Holunder, engl. elder Beschreibung / description: Shrubs or small trees. Summergreen and can have a height between 1 and 15 meters.

Verbreitung / dissemination: The elder (espec. The Black Elder) grows in North-West Africa and the entire Europe over western Asia and the Caucasus to northern India.

Standort /location: He has no specific site conditions. Grows on every soil. Nutzung / use: The fruits are used as food for the birds and can be used for juice production. The wood is not available. The juice has a lot of Vitamin C and is used if somebody has fever.

Flieder, engl. Lilac Beschreibung / description: That are deciduous shrubs or small trees with flowers in different colors. Mostly white, red or purple. The flowertime is in May/June.

Verbreitung / dissemination: The lilac species are native to Asia and Europe

Standort /location: Location is undemanding, but likes sun.

Nutzung / use: Lilac-shrubs in parks and gardens used

Haselnuss, engl. hazelnut Beschreibung / description: It is a usually around five feet tall deciduous shrub. The maximum age of the hazel is 80 to 100 years. Verbreitung / dissemination: You find the hazelnut in Europe and Asia Minor, and is native to Central Europe very common Standort /location: You find the hazelnut in large parts of Europe(till polar circle) and Asia Minor and the Caucasus.

Nutzung / use: The seeds contain about 60% of hazelnut oil fatty. The nuts have vitamins and minerals. The nut is used for eating and food for small mammals. Harvest time is usually September / October.

Wallnuss, engl. walnut Beschreibung / description: The walnut tree is 15 to 25 meters, in dense stands of trees and up to 30 meters high. His height growth ends with about 60 to 80 years. It can reach an age from 150 to 160 years.

Verbreitung / dissemination: Because it is very sensitive to winter cold and late frosts, they are found frequently in mild winters, not to low rainfall records, such as in the vineyards. It grows especially well on deep, fresh, nutrient-and calcium-rich loam and clay soils. You find them in Germany too. Standort /location: The tree loves warm places. Perhaps places with sunny positions. Nutzung / use: The cultivation of genuine walnut is primarily because of the fruit yield. However, since the wood is sought after is, since the end of the last century is increasingly trying to use the tree for forestry. The fruits are very healthy and protect against diseases such as cancer, high blood pressure etc. Harvest time is usually September / October.

Liguster, engl. privet Beschreibung / description: Privet grow as deciduous or evergreen shrubs or trees. The small flowers are white. The dark blue fruits serve as food for birds.

Verbreitung / dissemination: Most species have their home in eastern Asia, a few in Europe, Africa and Australasia. In Europe, only the Common Privet is native.

Standort /location: Privet is undemanding. After the plant is to water well. As an ornamental hedge must be cut excessively regulated.

Nutzung / use: A few species are cultivated as ornamentals and particularly used in gardens to plant hedges. Most of these species are originally from Japan or China. Privet is often planted as a hedge cut.
