‘Figure 8’ is that moment you lose someone but continue to chase after

his love. Never ceasing, never ending. Time appears to slow down to a

standstill, halted by the intensity of loss and defeat.

Caught up in the love and lust of a young youthful relationship, she

chases his love around a ‘figure 8’ with no beginning and no end.

Beautiful, raw images of a white horse running through a misty field

becomes a metaphor for the chase after love, juxtaposed with the slow

motion of the time standing still.

The smoke and mist portray the intensity of the loneliness she holds

condemned by the break of the promise - ‘you promised forever and a

day’.

The smoke reiterates the broken relationship as she can no longer hold

on to the love that is disappearing.

Music slows, the girl is stood in the studio as revealed by a medium/long shot. The field gets covered by thick smoke representing the loss of their love. The male appears from the smoke. He slowly walks towards the girl. They meet. Stood next to each other. A medium shot shows their hands meet. Touching but not locking together. The music builds up to a drop to which a medium\close up shot of a drum being hit with powder paint is shown. Quick, snappy shots of horse running through field, the girl and male on the field and the girl in the studio fill the whole chorus representing her rush of feelings and emotions. The smoke clears. Its stripped away. Metaphorical for love completely gone. It gets thinner and thinner as the male disappears leaving only her in the field. Alone.
