Kristian Thompson June 27, 2013 Page 1 of 1 Experimental Studies - MoCap Assignment 2 – Treatment “Boy meets girl, boy falls in love, boy loses girl.” Synopsis: Two individuals are busy ‘doing their own thing’ when they notice each other. Curiosity leads to contact and a relationship develops as they inter- act. The pair fail to find a mutually acceptable equilibrium of dominance and submission and choose to disengage from each other. Rationale: Arriving at the volume I was presented with an actual couple, interested in dance and keen to play. Eager to capitalize on the nuance performance capture technology affords, I presented the pair with this universal, very loosely structured scenario, encouraged improvisation and played a vari- ety of music for the actors to perform to, hoping coax the least synthetic performance I could from the situation.
