Trascastro is a small village situated 33 km away from Cangas del Narcea and at an altitude of 805 meters above sea level. In Trascastro there are 35 inhabitants and 19 houses inhabited all year long and 8 houses inhabited during the summer. It belongs to the administrative parish of Leitariegos (Leitariegos, Braas de Arriba, Braas de Abajo, La Farruquita and Cabuezos) and to the religious parish of San Julin de rbas (San Julin de rbas, Geln, Vega rey, Vegameoro, Villar de Roguero, Riomoln, Villager, rbas, Miravalles, Lindota, La Pachalina, El Otero, Otardej and La Fonda). Trascastro has got three stately homes with coats of arms on their facade. There are two fountains made of stone. Slide 2 Slide 3 Trascastro has got two religious festivals: one is a festival only for Trascastro, and the other one is for the whole parish. The festival in Trascastro is that of Sta. Isabel, which is celebrated on the last weekend of May. The other festival, that of the whole parish, is the Ecce-Homo, celebrated on the second weekend of September.
