I . I n t r o d u c t i o n
T h e t r a n s p o r t p r o p e r t i e s o f t h e t w o - d i m e n s i o n a l
e l e c t r o n g a s i n s i l i c o n m e t a l o x i d e s e m i c o n d u c t o r
( M O S ) s y s t e m s h a v e b e e n s t u d i e d e x p e r i m e n t a l l y
a n d t h e o r e t i c a l l y f o r m a n y y e a r s . F o r a r e v i e w s e e
t h e a r t i c l e b y A n d o , F o w l e r , a n d S t e r n [ 1 ] .
R e c e n t l y n e w t w o - d i m e n s i o n a l r e a l i z a t io n s o f a t w o -
d i m e n s i o n a l e l e c t r o n g a s b e t w e e n c o m p o u n d s e m i -
c o n d u c t o r s s u c h a s G a A s a n d A 1 G a A s b e c a m e i m -

T h e m o b i li t y o f t h es e G a A s - A I G a A s s y st e m s h a s
b e e n s t u d i e d e x p e r i m e n t a l l y i n d e t a i l [ 2 , 5 , 6 ] , U n t i l
n o w , t h e d y n a m i c c o n d u c t i v i t y a t z e r o m a g n e t i c
f ie l d h a s n o t b e e n m e a s u r e d , b u t t h e p u b l i s h e d d a t a
o n c y c l o t r o n r e s o n a n c e e x p e r i m e n t s g i v e i n f o r m a t i o n
o n t h e d y n a m i c c o n d u c t i v i t y a t f i n i t e m a g n e t i c f i e l d s
[ 7 - 1 3 ] . E s p e c i a l l y i n R e f . 1 2 a m a x i m u m i n t h e l in e

t u r e z e r o [ 1 4 , 1 5 ] a n d f o r f i n i t e t e m p e r a t u r e [ 1 6 ] f o r
v a r i o u s s c a t t e r i n g m e c h a n i s m s . A c c e p t a b l e a g r e e -
m e n t w a s f o u n d w h e n t h e r e s ul t s o f t h e s e t h e o ri e s
w e r e c o m p a r e d w i t h e x p e r i m e n t a l r e s u l t s . W i t h i n a
s t a ti c s c r e e n in g a p p r o x i m a t i o n t h e l i ne w i d t h o f t h e
c y c l o t r o n r e s o n a n c e w a s c a l c u l a t e d [ 1 7 ] r e c e n t l y f o r
s t r o n g m a g n e t i c f i el ds . B e c a u s e o f t h e K o h n t h e o r e m
[ 1 8 ] n o d i r e c t c h a n g e o f t h e c y c l o t r o n r e s o n a n c e i s
e x p e c t e d f o r a n i n t e r a c t i n g e l e c t r o n g a s .
B u t t h e K o h n t h e o r e m o n l y h o l d s f o r s y s t e m s w i t h -

t h e m e a s u r e d d e n s i t y r a n g e t h e l o w e s t o r d e r a p p r o x -
i m a t i o n i n th e e l e c t r o n i m p u r i t y c o u p l i n g s e e m s t o
w o r k w e l l , b u t a t l o w e l e c t r o n d e n s i t ie s s t r o n g
a n o m a l i e s a r e e x p e c t e d . I n t h e w o r k o f R e f. 2 1 t h e
m a g n e t i c f ie l d w a s i n t r o d u c e d b y a r e s o n a n c e p o l e
i n th e d y n a m i c c o n d u c t i v i t y . B u t n o i n f lu e n c e o f t h e
