Strip insulation technologyStrip insulation allows a conical build-up of the layer insulation. The end filler is automatically filled up with the same insulation strip(s).The insulation strip is wound with constant, dancer controlled tension which guarantees a high filling factor and small radial tolerances. It is possible to program each layer insulation different which is needed for the high voltage impacts.
Tuboly-Astronic winding softwareOur winding software is running on an industrial PC with Windows 7. Due to our flexible and modular winding sys-tem a coil can be easily programmed either on the machine or in our office version on a desk computer. A graphical output of the coil can be shown during production or programming. Based on the entered data for start and end insulation thickness, the winding system is automatically computing the insulation advance for a conical or cylindri-cal layer insulation build up.
Winding without manual intervention. On WHC winding machines high voltage coils
for small distribution transformers can be wound. Simultaneously to the winding of the
conductor, the layer insulation is built up automatically with one insulation strip. The layer
insulation can be built up either conically or cylindrically. The insulation strip is automatically
fed-in and fixed. If needed the insulation strip is automatically separated and re-attached
after the layer is built up. This allows automatic winding from coil start to cooling channel or
lead out without any manual interference by the operator. A PC control system pre-calcu lates
and executes all necessary stop points.

Wire guiding unit with dancer-regulated brake systemA dancer system regulates the motor-powered brake rollers and keeps the pre-selected wire tension constant even at oval or rectangular coil shapes. This ensures perfect layer build up at high winding speeds. The required wire tension can be adjusted on the control panel without any mechani-cal intervention.
Automatic insulation strip cutting and reattachment system (patented)The insulation strip moves ahead of the wire to build up the layer insulation and then automatically builds up the required endfi ller at the layer end. If the strip insulation must be cut and reattached no stop is required due to the automatic cutting and reattachment system.
Flattening unit for round wireWith the proven fl attening unit, the round enamel-insu-lated wire can be rolled fl at to an adjustable height.The advantage of fl attening round wire is a higher fi lling factor which results in smaller coil dimensions and reduction of the conductor material, core material and tank volume. This leads to signifi cant savings of transformer manufacturing costs.
