TRANSCRIPT OF TIIE CHRISTIAN GOMILLION WILL AND RELATED PAPERS State of South Carolina, Barnwell Dist. In the name of God Amen I, Christian Gomillion of the State and Dist aforesaid, Being in Sound mind & perfect memmy, and Knowing it is appointed unto all men to die do make ordain Constitute and appoint This my last Will and Testament. (That is to) First of all I commit my Soul to God who gave it and my Body to the Dust to be Buried at the discretion of my friend Then I desire my river tracts of Lands Should be Sold at public Sale, and all my Just debts to be paid with the money thence arising, and the overplus, if any, to be Equally divided among all my Sw"Viving heirs after One Hundred Dollars are given a piece to Elder, Diney & Nancy and One Hundred and fifty to my Son Bartlett. Item, I Give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife, Catharine during her natural life, my land whereon I now live bounded by the Charleston and Barnwell Roads, together with my negro fellow named Solomon and all my Stock of Horses, Cattle, Hogs, etc., Household & Kitchen Furniture, Farming Utensils & wagon and at her Death to be sold and Divided Eqrulily among my Surviving Heirs; Exclusive of one Horse or mare which my Wife may give Elder, my Son, at discretion, and the aforesaid Land. Item, the money Owing me by Guignard to be Eqrulily divided among my Heirs when collected. Item, I give and bequeath Unto my son Andrew, all my Land Lying on the East side of the Barnwell Road. Item, I give & bequeath to my son Jesse all my Land Lying on the South Side of the Charleston Road. the district aforesaid, deceased, heresoever any of the goods and Chattels of the said deceased are or do remain within the said parts and places, and which shall be shown unto you by the said Andrew Gomillion, Executor of aforesaid, and then view and appraise all and every the said goods and Chattels, being fIrst sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect Inventory and appeasement thereof, and to cause the same to be returned under your hand, or any three or four ofyou, to the said Andrew Gomillion on or before the 17th day of June now next ensuing. Dated this 17th day of April, Anno Domini, 1824, and in the 48th year of American Independence.

Memorandwn. This 30th day of April 1824, personally appeared before me Josiah Walker, Esquire, one of the Justices of the Quorum for the district aforesaid. Welcome USSety, Tolliver Martin and Benjamin ODom being three of the appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and Chattels of Christian Gomillion, deceased, who being duly sworn, made oath, that they would make a just and true appeasement of all and singular the goods and Chattels, (Ready money only excepted) of Christian Gomillion, deceased, as shall be produced by Mr. Andrew Gomillion, Executor of the last will and Testament of the estate of the said Christian Gomillion, deceased, and that they would return the same certified under their hands unto the said Andrew Gomillion, Executor as aforesaid, within the time prescribed by Law.
