David Pawson Jeremiah Part 2

Well lets pick up the story of jeremiah where we left of in the prev talk.we are now looking at the msg of jeremiah And we are looking at the ways in which his mesg was very is similar to that of the prophets. So, firt he talks about the people of God How they turned away from God.When you turn away from god. You turn away from goodness.And when you loose HimYou loose the good side of lifeThe bad side comes to the surfaceBecause we are basically evil even if we know how to do good thingsAnd when God removes His restrain as Paul puts in Romance 1 “When men give God up, God gives men up ”When god gives man upThe worst side of him comes to the surface And the bad things come out in the society We all know that without the grace of god We would be much worst than we are If he hadnt kept his hand on us

And when i read the terrible things that people do reading about it in newspaperI am reminded that I am capable of evil just like that Given the right cercumstances, given the right and pressure There are men and beasts All men can be beasts nor women If god takes his hands off usSo we have an People thy giving up on god So god lket them go So the worse side come out

The 2nd major thing that he has in common with other prophets This is bound to lead to disasterGod has got to do with it He cant allow his people to go on like this And so he said he is going to bring the babylonians That those who say that he is bad news really hadnt read him properly Because whne he looks further into the future, he had a lovely optimism about the ultimate restoration of his people I want to read abit to youI dont often have time to read the bible in this talksI hope you read the bible before and after these talksLets just look first at the new covenant“the time is coming to curse the Lord”Make a new covenant with the house of israel and the house of JuddahIt will not be like the covenant that he made with our forefathers
