Trampoline is one of four events including in the gymnastics discipline of Trampoline & Tumbling, often referred to as T&T (the others are synchronized trampoline, double mini-trampoline, and power tumbling). Both girls and boys can participate in all four T&T events. In trampoline, you are sure to see numerous high-flying skills that include multiple flips and twists combined into one "routine". This is elite level trampoline at its finest but participation can also be thrilling and exciting while the skills are at a more basic or recreational level. Trampoline is an easy addition to an existing gymnastics program. Boys and girls of all ages love to jump around and tumble about – just look at the abundance of recreational trampolines and children's never ending motion. Plus, the sport of trampoline has become more widely known because of its status as an Olympic discipline. Using existing equipment in your gym, you can get a program started today!

Synchronized trampoline demands the same athletic skill as individual trampoline, while adding

the element of precision timing. Using two trampolines, two athletes perform identical 10-skill

routines at the same time. In this most artistic event in the sport, each performs as a mirror

image of the other, doubling the visual beauty of trampoline competition

Power tumbling is performed on elevated spring runways that help tumblers propel themselves

higher than a basketball goal as they demonstrate speed, strength and skill while executing a

series of acrobatic maneuvers. Top-level contenders will perform explosive somersaults with

multiple flips and twists.

Double mini is a relatively new sport that combines the horizontal run of tumbling with the

vertical rebound of trampoline. After a short run, the athlete jumps onto a small two-level

trampoline to perform a rebounding trick immediately followed by a dismount element onto a

landing mat. Double mini is similar in concept to springboard diving, using a mat instead of water.

Combine trampoline and tumbling, the sport you love, with the amazing youth experiences found only in a summer camp setting. Located on the shores of Corey Lake, a large all-sport lake in southwest Michigan, athlete participants can count on twice-a-day training with other athletes from all over the country and also enjoy other traditional summer camp activities that make for life-lasting memories.

USA Gymnastics Trampoline and Tumbling has fostered a unique partnership with Camp Wakeshma, a very old and established Michigan summer camp. USA Gymnastics T&T, camp sponsors and a host of volunteers have been able to develop a summer experience for T&T athletes ages 10 – 16 that provides them with truly unique "national camp" live-in training and a classic summer camp recreational experience. The Athletes, Clinicians, Staff and the wonderful staff of professional counselors and administrators at Camp Wakeshma create a magical mix that produces a summer trampoline and tumbling event that is special indeed.

This is an all discipline Trampoline and Tumbling training camp that has become the most memorable summer highlight of every athlete that attends. All proceeds going to support the collegiate educational needs of the athletes of USA Gymnastics Trampoline and Tumbling. (Yes, you can get a scholarship in T&T)

The International Gymnastics Federation has conducted the draw for the 2015 World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships, Nov. 26-29, in Odense, Denmark. This year’s World Championships are the first of two opportunities for countries to qualify in trampoline for the 2016 Olympic Games.

The top eight men and top eight women in trampoline at the World Championships will secure a berth for their country, with a maximum of two per country. The top five men and five women at the Olympic Test Event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in April will advance to the Olympics, with any remaining spots (Tripartite/continental/host country representation) allocated after the conclusion of the Test Event. This year’s World Championships is also the qualification event for tumbling, double mini-trampoline and synchronized trampoline for the 2017 World Games in Wroclaw, Poland.
