FEEDBACK FROM TRAINEES
• The workshop on Entrepreneur Development for Pack-House was extensively appreciated by the
participants. They found the workshop very informative and felt that more workshops like this should be
organized by NCCD.
• The participants got an overview of the packaging sector. The information disseminated by the experts and
faculty was quite knowledgeable and a great learning experience
• The entrepreneurial opportunities in the pack-house sector were highlighted and the participants were also
enlightened about the state commitment towards it.
• The visit to Real Fresh Foods, Gandhi Nagar, Agra, Uttar Pradesh (UP). was very knowledgeable for the
participants and gave them an opportunity to witness & experience the activities carried out at a Pack-House.
• They got an opportunity to view & understand the packaging process comprising of preloading, sorting and
grading operations carried out on day to day basis in a pack-house.
• The trainees found the training program interesting and helpful in understanding the operations of a pack-
house which helped in enhancing their entrepreneurial skills by giving them practical hands on experience
at the Real Fresh Foods, Gandhi Nagar, Agra, Uttar Pradesh (UP).
FEEDBACK FROM FACULTY
The faculty was interactive with the participants to spread awareness about Entrepreneur Development for
Pack-Houses
During the above training it was observed that participants were very keen and enthusiastic in learning the
know-how, techniques and new innovations which are taking place in the post-harvest and processing
sector of fruits & vegetables.
The scenario of international market of processed products and over all post-harvest technology
management was discussed by expert resource persons.
This training was eye opening and a new experience for the participants which were appreciated by them
via their enquiry and keen interest for an international training exposure visit.
The practical problems faced by participants was discussed and brought to the notice of the expert panel of
trainers from our resource team.
These problems were openly described and the solutions were given to the participants during discussion
hours. The participants were in favor of having such trainings and exposure visits to various pack-houses
which are functional in the state and outside state.
Farmers are keen to develop clusters and FPO’S for construction the pack- houses with the help of expert
advices from resource persons or the government.
Processing units along with the Pack-House was also very interesting for the participants.
Activities Before The Workshop
• On receipt of approval from the National Centre for Cold Chain Development (NCCD) the potential
participants & speakers were approached in the target area through newspaper advertisements, calling etc.
• ICE also contacted related companies, owners of the pack-house and Bank Representatives and district
horticulture office in Agra, Uttar Pradesh to give wide publicity about the training program to the
participants.
• The pack-house in Gandhi Nagar, Agra, Uttar Pradesh (UP). Real Fresh Foods, was pleased to open their
doors for the field visit and was also enthusiastic to share their entrepreneurial journey with the trainees.
• Mr. Sagar Jain, effectively coordinated with the organizers to ensure participation by all concerned in the
industry. He also delivered his experience during the training.
AGENDA: GENERATION OF EMPLOYMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL
DEVELOPMENT The objective of the program was to:
Create awareness about the Entrepreneurial Opportunities available in Pack-House.
Promote Skill Development for Pack-House.
Train human resources in Pack-House operations.
Educate the trainees about Entrepreneurial Development & Skill Training.
Educate the trainees in real time conditions to give them hands on experience.
Promotion of standards, scientific procedures and best practices in pack-house.
Assist in providing employment opportunities to the trained candidates through our existing network of
promoters of fruit, vegetables pack-house.
Educate the potential entrepreneurs about
o The financial viability of setting up a pack-house.
o The technical standards on pack-house established by NCCD.
o New MIDH guidelines and financial assistance available.
o Financial assistance available from Indian Banks.
Provide feedback concerning future training needs, and participate in the design of annual training
activities.
The prospective employers – pack-house owners, allowed practical trainings in their facility and actively
participated with the trainees, and clarified and answered queries raised by the trainees during the practical
session.
They have been registered and updated in our database and will be in touch for the preparation of DPRs etc.
