Aviation Security Awareness Training (Cargo,Mail,Store,Supplies)

airport supplies and persons having access to identifiable air cargo or identifiable air mail.

Recommended for any person who has authority to sign Consignment Security Declarations under Part 108.

Aviation Security Screener (Cargo, Store, Mail, Supplies)

For personnel implementing screening of cargo, mail, air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies.

Aviation Security Supervisor (Passenger and Baggage)

For personnel who are supervising those implementing screening of persons, cabin baggage, items carried and hold baggage.

Aviation Security Supervisor (Cargo, Store, Mail, Supplies)

For personnel who are supervising those implementing screening of cargo, mail, air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies.

Aviation Security Management (Airport and Air Carrier)

For personnel who are Security Managers at airports and air carriers.

Aviation Security Management (Cargo)

For personnel who are Security Managers of Air Cargo and who are responsible for the management of security controls for Air Freight. (also for Part 108 - Designated Officials, Deputy Designated Officials)

For Awareness Courses (except where otherwise stated), the following is applicable: Initial Course: 6 hours. Validity: 2 years.

Refresher Training: min. 3 hours.

For all Screeners the following is applicable: Initial Course: 40 hours - 20 hours theoretical, 20 hours practical, simulation and Computer Based training, followed by 10 days On-the-Job training for each applicable screening method the Screener has been trained in. Validity: 1 year. Refresher Training: 40 hours, including 16 hours of practical, simulation and Computer Based training.

For all Screener Supervisors the following is applicable: They need to be Qualified Screeners. Initial Course: 40 hours classroom theoretical training. Validity: 1 year. Refresher Training: Minimum of 40 hours classroom theoretical training, which shall include 8 hours of practical and Computer Based Training.

For all Security Managers the following is applicable: Initial Course: 40 hours classroom theoretical training. Validity: 2 years. Refresher Training: Minimum of 20 hours classroom theoretical training.

A specialised one day program for Drivers & Assistants, Fleet Supervisors & Managers.

This course will give personnel who are responsible for transporting cargo the knowledge and skills to:

• have knowledge of hijacking statistics• know about the types of hijackings that could occur• identify areas where potential hijackings could occur• practice general security awareness on the road• prepare to transport a shipment• drive defensively• respond in an hijacking situation • handle trauma

Enhanced Security Training

A specialised two day program for security personnel who are responsible for ensuring the security of property, personnel, visitors and assets. Presented by experts in the field, this course will give security personnel a unique practical perspective on specific aspects of security.

This course focuses on training security personnel on how to:

• identify and practically resolve situations involving suspicious people, vehicles and objects.

• respond to specific emergencies when they are the First Responders • secure and manage Crime Scenes• support the South African Police Service as well as Emergency and other Services

Security personnel who would like to enrol for this course should have a good command of the English language, written and oral comprehension. They should also have relevant security experience.

The course consists of a mixture of theory and practical learning. It is ideal for refresher training and enhancing the skills of security personnel.
