“Cluster / Sub – Cluster / SHG (Grade I) could be engaged for conduct of Muster Roll Verification”
CONDITIONSCONDITIONS
• The Cluster / Sub – Cluster / SHG selected for the verification work will get the work done through its members only.
• Selected members should have passed Class X or at least Class VIII.
• Members engaged as Supervisors will not be eligible.
• Concerned Cluster / Sub – Cluster / SHG will be paid @ ` 1.50 for each entry of verified Muster Roll.
• The Cluster / Sub – Cluster / SHG so entrusted with the Muster Roll Verification work will give the list of their members who will be involved in the process to the Gram Panchayat.
• The Programme Officer will obtain the list from the Gram Panchayat for organizing their training.

CREATION OF BASIC ASSETS UNDER MAHATMA GANDHI NREGA FOR TAKING UP OF SCHEMES UNDER NRLM
EXAMPLE 1:
For SHG members engaged in cattle breeding, labour under MGNREGS can be utilized for construction of cattle shed, raising of cattle feed etc, although there is no scope for purchase of cattle from the fund.

1. Raising of demand for work and ensuring that it is provided on time, during the period required.
2. Improve planning for local employment to maximize work from existing sources and then adding on the MGNREGS entitlement of 100 days to fill gaps.
3. Collectively accessing different work opportunities in and around the village.
4. Improving work site environment and facilities.5. Interacting with MGNREGS functionaries and
sorting out different issues especially in getting grievances redressed.
6. Ensuring that all the process and providers of MGNREGS are adhered to and the entitlements are provided.
7. Bringing about a culture of mutual help while carrying out different tasks related to their work.
8. Building awareness on different developmental and legal entitlements and developing capacity to access them.
9. Enabling raising of the collective voice of the poor in various local participatory fora especially the Grama Sabha.
10. Inducing a process of skill-development so that over a period of time the workers can move out of manual labour into semiskilled and skilled work.
11. Developing social capital and the capacity for local public action.
12. Strengthening in Social Audit.
FUNCTIONS OF LABOUR GROUPS
1. Ensure that the entitlements of MGNREGA are accessed in letter and spirit.
2. Ensure that the quality of work is to the desired level.
3. Motivate every worker to put in her best effort.
4. Guard against malpractices and bring to the notice of authorities any malpractices.

2. They should be encouraged to utilize their 25% share productively which will give earnings in future.
For eg. : If a certain SHG has its own land , they may be encouraged to go for block plantation with forest varieties which require very less care, and will yield good amount of timber in future. The money earned this way will be distributed among the members of the same SHG.

Azolla CultureAzolla Culture• Azolla is an easy to use nutritional supplement for cattle.It
has high protein content. Azolla can be mixed with concentrates or can be given directly to livestock.It can even be fed to poultry,sheep,goat,pigs and rabbits.
• 1.A pit size of 2m×2m×0.2m is dug .
• 2.The bottom of the pit is covered with plastic gunnies.
• 3.10-15 kgs of seived soil is spread over the plastic sheet.
• 4.Slurry made of 2kgcowdung+30gm super phosphate+10lts of water.
• 5.Add more water to as the level is increased to 10cm.
• 6.Add 500gm-to1kg fresh azolla is introduced.
• 7.500-600gms of Azolla can be harvested daily after 10-15 days.
• 8.The cost of the pit should be withinRs 2000.00
• 9.The ratio of wage : Material is 15:85.

• The low cost and effective method has immense potential to improve nutrition.
1. Take a pit 1m×1m×1m.
2. Add 50kg cowdung+20lt cattle urine+1kg jaggery+1kg chickpea+1000lts of water.
3. Stir the mixture 3 times a day
4. After 7 days fermentation ,the liquid manure is diluted and applied on the field.
5. It can be used in vegetable plots and kitchen gardens.
6. The unit cost of sanjeevak is pit is around rs 2000.00

8. A maximum of 3 sanjeevak pits will be constructed per selected household under MGNREGA.
