OPTIMIZING PROCESS PERFORMANCE USING STATISTICAL VALIDATIONFEES | FMM MEMBER – RM500 | NON-MEMBER – RM600
Optimizing a process means we set the process parameters so that it gives the maximum output that we want the process to give. This could mean letting the process to give Y of the highest value, the lowest value, or simply a level that satisfies customer’s requirement (optimum does not always means the maximum or minimum level). This course assumes the XY model has been reduced statistically. What will be done here is to find the relationship between the Y and its reduced number of X factors. Once the relationship has been discovered, the next task is to optimize it (setting all the X parameters at correct level simultaneously). This would give optimum Y. Once this is done the other major thing to do in this course is to confirm if the Y meets targeted level. This is done statistically rather than how we feel about the optimization outcomes. Various statistical tests are available depending of the types of data of the Y.

Many sectors of the economy are identifying project management as a new key business process. As project management gains recognition as a distinct way of managing change, there are differences in how it is applied and understood across industries, corporations, governments, and academia. Project management is a term used freely in today’s work world, whether the work is in a profit-oriented company, a not-for-profit organization, or a government agency. People do not always mean the same thing when they use it, however. Some organizations use the term project management to describe the task of managing work. Others use it to define the field of work that is focused on the delivery of project results. Still others refer to the profession of project management, encompassing not only project managers but also other project-related specialists. Others use it to describe traditional management practices or technical management practices, simply transferring those practices from organizational operations to projects.
