Editing, Framing and music• The editing for this trailer starts off quite slow and with a speech in the background. It also shows parts of fights which are a

little more fast paced using a lot of variations of shots, which reinforce what is being said in the speech.• The music used could be described as Non Diegetic music, however, the music for the trailer is played by a character at the

beginning, thus making it Diegetic.• The Editing also changes with how fast the music is and with any base sounds, the inter-titles appear.

• There were multiple uses of jump cuts put together of fights and events at the beginning. There is also lots of different types of camera angles and types of shots. Examples would be:

• The editing goes in sync with the music here and in most action trailers actually. It starts off with Diegetic an electric guitar with a beat in the beginning and the music stops as soon as the one of the team agrees to saving the Galaxy. The use of silence in an action movie trailer is very effective, especially in action comedies because when the music stops (as what happens at comedy moments), it could signify for the audience that this part is supposed to be comedy. The editor uses the sound of the gunshots to place the inter-titles which say what movies this studios has also made. Sound happens when text shows as well. The music stops again when one of the characters breaks something. This gave a silence for the characters to introduce their group, which was presented to the audience with a low angle shot in order to make them seem superior to everyone else. The song then builds up to the title of the movie followed by a sudden lowering to the volume of music and the diegetic sound of the spaceship that the characters are in. As soon as a character stays he has 12% of a plan, the music stops and the racoon laughs at him. This adds to the humour of the scene and make it more enjoyable for the viewer.

Mise en scène, Lighting and Movement• At the beginning of the trailer, there was a tracking shot of a spaceship in space which could imply that the following shots

are going to take place there. These are a clear indication of where the film was going to be set (in the galaxy). The light used in space is called aurora which is something that usually happens in space due to how light is reflected by a sun. The lighting used inside the spaceship is high key lighting which suggests that the people in the spaceship are not evil.

• There is also a lot of unorthodox lights used such as the one in the third picture. A lot of explosions in different places went on which suggests that the main characters moved around the galaxy. The lighting used in the third picture is very Low Key lighting to show the that she is probably on enemy grounds. This could imply that she taking steps towards saving the galaxy.

• We then see the fights and attacks from all different angles.• This is then followed by a shot of the suspected antagonist.

• There are also flashes of the character as they walk together, using tracking shots of the characters moving while in slow motion.

• We can also know more about the character’s personality from how they are portrayed in the trailer. For example:

Star-Lord is a leader figure for them as he directs the group and gives them a purpose.

Gamora is the outsider who was brought into the group shown by her restricted interaction with others.

Drax is represented as “the muscle” of the group as he is shown frequently in battle mode.

Rocket is “the brains” of the group as he is shown mocking star-lord for proposing something seeming stupid.

Groot is the glue as he is shown as being the

“gentle giant” presenting a child with a flower.
